Chapter 266: Jiang Linfeng’s Death!
by tinytreeLin Xiao’s response caught Duan Changhan and Jiang Linfeng completely off guard.
He didn’t dodge, didn’t defend. Instead, he suddenly opened his mouth and exhaled a powerful burst of air.
A forceful, intense breath.
With a sound like a roaring gust, a visible stream of white air shot out from Lin Xiao’s mouth, barreling straight toward the flying needles.
The steel needles, charged with inner strength, clinked and clattered as they were knocked off course by Lin Xiao’s breath. They scattered in every direction before falling to the ground with a series of metallic clangs.
He’d deflected them with a single breath.
“What… How is that even possible!?”
Duan Changhan and Jiang Linfeng were both stunned. Lin Xiao’s move was beyond anything they’d expected. To knock away dozens of needles with just a breath—just how much power was stored in his body to pull that off?
Duan’s face was tense as his eyes narrowed. A flicker of fear crept into his expression. He understood better than anyone just how insane Lin Xiao’s strength had to be.
Chen Lingxin, watching from the sidelines, was completely transfixed. The sight reminded her of a great whale blowing water into the sky. Lin Xiao wasn’t a giant whale, of course, but the sheer power and awe of the moment felt just the same. Her heart pounded with admiration for him. If it weren’t for the fury she felt over her father’s injuries, she might’ve burst into applause right then and there.
This was the kind of strength she’d always dreamed of seeing in a true master.
Finally, Duan Changhan launched his own attack. Despite his fear of Lin Xiao’s strength, he still believed in himself.
Duan moved like lightning. His Eagle Claw technique tore through the air as his hands closed in on Lin Xiao’s chest and abdomen. His arms cut through the air with such force that the pressure alone sent Lin Xiao’s clothing whipping around him, even before his strikes landed.
Duan’s strength was in a whole different league than Jiang Linfeng’s. Both were skilled Dark Force masters, but there were levels even within that mastery. The difference between them was like that between a hundred and nine thousand. It just wasn’t close.
Chen Lingxin’s heart tightened. She clasped her hands nervously. Her eyes were locked on the scene. She believed in Lin Xiao, but a real fight to the death wasn’t some casual street brawl—anything could happen in the next second.
Countless masters in history had lost due to a single careless moment, slipping up against weaker foes. Unless the gap was overwhelming, nothing was certain until the very end.
As Duan Changhan closed in with full force, Lin Xiao, who had been standing motionless, finally moved.
He lifted his gaze—not at Duan Changhan, but straight at Jiang Linfeng, who was glaring at him with hatred. Suddenly, a fierce wave of killing intent surged from Lin Xiao.
Then he raised his left foot and stomped down.
Boom!
The ground shook. The loud crash echoed in everyone’s ears. The stone tiles beneath Lin Xiao’s foot shattered, leaving a crater. Using that force, he launched himself toward Jiang Linfeng. He moved so fast he was almost a blur.
In the blink of an eye, he was right in front of him, arm raised, fist ready to strike.
This punch was filled with Lin Xiao’s anger and killing intent. It was a terrifying blow, unstoppable. His fist tore through the air like a tiger’s roar.
A lightning punch. It was a shocking, thunderous strike that could not be ignored.
Lin Xiao’s mind was set—Jiang Linfeng had to die. Everything happening now was because of him, and Lin Xiao was putting everything he had into this one punch.
No one expected Lin Xiao to ignore Duan Changhan and go straight for Jiang Linfeng, the one farthest from him. Even Jiang Linfeng was taken off guard. His eyes widened in panic. There was no way he could match Lin Xiao head-on. He threw up his arms to shield himself and tried to stagger back.
But with Lin Xiao dead-set on killing him, there was no chance to escape.
Jiang Linfeng had no way out. Even at his peak, he wouldn’t have stood a chance against Lin Xiao’s unstoppable fury.
Before Jiang Linfeng could even move back a step, Lin Xiao’s fist slammed into him.
Bang!
With a sickening crunch, Lin Xiao sent Jiang Linfeng’s body flying. He was like a ragdoll, thrown over ten meters before smashing against a wall.
“Ugh!”
Jiang Linfeng’s eyes bulged, nearly popping out. His face was filled with pure disbelief. Blood poured from his eyes, ears, and nose, quickly covering his whole face. Lin Xiao’s punch had literally made him bleed from every opening.
He opened his mouth, as if wanting to say something, but instead coughed up a mouthful of blood mixed with bits of something else. That single punch had not only shattered his arm and bones but wrecked his insides too.
Lin Xiao showed no emotion as if this was only the beginning.
In a flash, Lin Xiao closed the distance. He grabbed Jiang Linfeng by the neck and lifted him high with one hand.
Jiang Linfeng’s terrified gaze met Lin Xiao’s icy glare.
“I told you not to threaten me.” Lin Xiao’s voice was calm and chilling, like the whisper of a demon. “Do you know what happens to anyone who tries?”
Jiang Linfeng’s throat let out a strangled sound as blood gushed from his mouth, dripping down Lin Xiao’s arm. He couldn’t speak, but he knew one thing—he was as good as dead.
Regret flooded through him. If only he hadn’t come to Chen’s Martial Arts Hall. If only he hadn’t crossed paths with Lin Xiao. If he hadn’t tried to bring Duan Changhan for revenge… maybe he’d still have a life, maybe he’d still have his skills and his freedom.
But it was too late for regrets.
“Maybe next life, you’ll learn to be a better person.”
With those words, Lin Xiao’s fingers tightened around Jiang Linfeng’s neck. He didn’t hesitate for a second.
Jiang Linfeng’s neck snapped. His body gave a final twitch. His head slumped to the side, his eyes dark and empty.
Jiang Linfeng was dead.
