Chapter 336: Taking Action
by tinytreeLi Yunxi’s delicate face flushed red with anger. “They couldn’t win, so they resorted to underhanded tactics? How shameless can they be?”
Lin Xiao, however, remained calm. He had already anticipated this before the underground tournament even started.
Even official matches had their own hidden rules, let alone an underground fight like this.
Lin Xiao glanced at Ding Hong, who was lying on the ground, his face contorted with pain and hatred. His expression flickered.
Fu Ying wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and spat a bloody glob of saliva onto the ground. Then, striding over to Ding Hong, he viciously kicked him in the chest, sending him rolling three to four meters away.
Ding Hong weakly reached out, trying to grab Fu Ying’s leg, but Fu Ying mercilessly stomped on his hand, pinning it to the ground. Then, raising his other foot, he prepared to stomp down on Ding Hong’s face with full force.
Judging by his stance, he was intent on crushing Ding Hong to death right then and there.
Many in the audience revealed looks of discomfort. However, the Mad Fang Gang was one of the most notorious underground factions in Jiangnan Province. No one dared risk offending them by stepping in to stop the brutality.
Just as everyone thought Ding Hong was doomed, a deep yet calm voice suddenly echoed through the venue, vibrating through everyone’s eardrums:
“Enough.”
The voice wasn’t particularly loud, but somehow, it carried across the entire area, reaching every corner with absolute clarity.
All heads turned in unison toward the source of the voice.
Under the gaze of the crowd, Lin Xiao, his expression cold and indifferent, leaped into the air. He soared gracefully over the heads of the onlookers, landing on the ring as lightly as a bird.
Fu Ying’s face twisted as he recognized him. “You?!”
Lin Xiao gave only a three-word response: “Get lost.”
“What did you just say?” Fu Ying could hardly believe his ears.
Did this guy just tell him to get lost? Did he have any idea who he was talking to?
The entire crowd was stunned into silence.
Telling the Mad Fang Gang’s young master to get lost? Was this guy crazy? No matter how strong he was, could he possibly take on an entire gang of over a thousand men?
“I told you to get lost.” Lin Xiao arched an eyebrow. “Did you not hear me?”
Fu Ying’s face darkened instantly. Retracting his foot from Ding Hong’s face, he glared at Lin Xiao coldly. “Who the hell do you think you are? You think having a bit of skill makes you invincible? If you piss me off, you won’t live to see tomorrow’s sunrise.”
“If you won’t leave,” Lin Xiao said indifferently, “then I’ll just have to help you.”
Fu Ying was already seething. He had completely forgotten his father’s warning. With a furious roar, he spread his arms like claws and lunged at Lin Xiao, aiming to tear him apart.
Lin Xiao, however, merely raised one hand casually, as if swatting at a fly.
Fu Ying’s vision blurred. Before he could even register Lin Xiao’s movement, a ferocious slap landed on his face.
The force was so tremendous that it shattered half his teeth and sent him flying off the stage!
“Hiss—!”
A chorus of gasps swept through the crowd.
“That was… terrifying.”
A burly man, who had been casually rolling iron balls in his palm, suddenly tensed, his pupils shrinking into pinpricks. “The Mad Fang Gang just ran into an iron wall.”
Among the Mad Fang Gang members, an elderly, pot-bellied man—none other than Fu Lei, the gang’s leader—witnessed his son getting slapped off the stage like a ragdoll. His face turned ashen, a mix of shock and fury swirling in his eyes.
He had already known Lin Xiao was strong, which was why he originally wanted to avoid provoking him. But now, not only had Lin Xiao provoked them, he had outright humiliated them.
Fu Lei gestured with his hand, and several gang members rushed over to Fu Ying, carefully lifting him off the ground.
Half of Fu Ying’s face was grotesquely swollen. His mouth was filled with broken teeth and blood. The pain was so intense that tears leaked from his eyes involuntarily.
Seeing his son in such a miserable state, Fu Lei’s killing intent soared.
But he was no fool. He had managed to clean up his reputation and expand the Mad Fang Gang to one of Jiangnan’s most powerful factions precisely because he was not reckless.
Even though he wanted nothing more than to tear Lin Xiao apart, his expression remained composed.
“Sir, what exactly do you mean by this?” Fu Lei suppressed his fury, addressing Lin Xiao in a steady tone. “As far as I recall, there’s no grudge between us.”
“Nothing much,” Lin Xiao replied casually. “I just don’t like you guys.”
Fu Lei’s face twitched. “That’s your reason?”
Lin Xiao shrugged. “Also, this guy has some ties to me. I can’t just stand by and watch him get beaten to death.”
He pointed at Ding Hong, who was barely hanging onto life, gasping weakly.
Fu Lei’s voice turned icy. “Sir, this is rather inappropriate. Since both fighters entered the ring willingly, any outcome, even death, is part of the rules. Otherwise, where’s the fairness?”
“Fairness?” Lin Xiao smirked. “Are you seriously talking about fairness? You weren’t concerned about fairness when you struck him from the shadows.”
Lin Xiao’s words immediately sparked murmurs among the audience.
Many of them hadn’t noticed the sabotage, but now that Lin Xiao had exposed it, their gazes toward the Mad Fang Gang changed. Nobody wanted to risk their lives in a match, only to get stabbed in the back.
Fu Lei’s expression darkened. Behind his back, he subtly gestured to his subordinates. “So, you’re really determined to be my enemy?”
“Enemy?” Lin Xiao laughed. “A bunch of weaklings like you don’t qualify to be my enemies.”
Lin Xiao’s insulting words sent Fu Lei into a rare fit of rage.
“Very well. Very well indeed.” Fu Lei laughed coldly, then turned to the crowd. “Everyone, you all heard him. This man has utterly insulted us, treating the Mad Fang Gang like we’re nothing. If we don’t get rid of him, how can we maintain our standing in Jiangnan? After we take care of him, we’ll compensate everyone for the disturbance.”
Then, Fu Lei raised his hand and pointed at Lin Xiao.
“Kill him.”
At his command, his subordinates simultaneously pulled out their guns and aimed at Lin Xiao.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
The air exploded with gunfire.
The entire crowd panicked, ducking for cover. Some even drew their own weapons, fearing an all-out shootout.
Yet, not a single bullet hit Lin Xiao.
Because the moment Fu Lei gave the order, Lin Xiao had already vanished from the stage. He charged straight into the heart of the Mad Fang Gang’s ranks.
At that moment, he was like a tiger leaping into a flock of sheep.
These gang members, while stronger than ordinary people, were nothing compared to Lin Xiao.
Even armed with guns, they stood no chance.
