Chapter 338: Going Home
by tinytree“Let’s go. There’s nothing left for us here.” Lin Xiao turned to Li Yunxi.
Li Yunxi first stared at him with the hungry gaze of a wolf spotting a divine beauty, then suddenly lowered her head, cheeks flushed. “Okay, I’ll listen to you. I’ll go anywhere you want.”
Lin Xiao’s mouth twitched. The words he had originally intended to say were suddenly impossible to voice. He could only turn to Old Jin. “We’re leaving. Make sure to take Ding Hong with you.”
Old Jin wasn’t the least bit surprised. If anything, he was thrilled. In his eyes, Lin Xiao was already a legend. Forget this minor request, even if Lin Xiao claimed he could single-handedly conquer the entire underground world of Xia Country, Old Jin wouldn’t doubt him for a second.
He immediately nodded. “Rest assured, Boss Lin. I’ll take care of it.”
Lin Xiao swept his gaze over the crowd one last time. The atmosphere was heavy, suffocating. Every single person was watching his every move.
He merely smiled faintly, then turned and walked away with Li Yunxi.
It wasn’t until Lin Xiao’s silhouette disappeared that the oppressive tension on the rooftop finally eased. All at once, people began exhaling deeply, the sound of relieved sighs filling the air.
“Where the hell did this monster come from? His aura was terrifying! Standing near him, I didn’t even dare to breathe too loudly!”
“Right? The moment he looked at me, I nearly pissed myself!”
“Hahaha! Coward!”
Unlike the clueless gang members joking around, the leaders of various factions wore grim expressions.
Lin Xiao’s parting words lingered in their minds like a sword hanging over their heads.
They couldn’t afford to take his warning lightly. None of them dared to gamble their lives.
Hundred Seat Society was the lesson written in blood, and men like Lin Xiao always followed through on their words.
Fu Lei scanned his surroundings. The once-mighty Mad Fang Gang lay scattered on the ground, groaning in pain. Even his own son was among them.
A deep sense of bleakness washed over him.
“Maybe it really is time to retire.”
Fu Lei wasn’t the only one thinking this.
The shock Lin Xiao left behind was too immense. It was like a toad at the bottom of a well suddenly seeing an eagle soaring across the sky—the contrast was so overwhelming that it crushed their spirits.
As they walked, Li Yunxi clung to Lin Xiao’s arm, leaning her full weight against him.
She kept stealing glances at his face, so lost in admiration that she didn’t watch her step.
Then—
“Ah!”
Li Yunxi gasped as her foot missed a step. She stumbled, about to hit the ground.
Lin Xiao sighed, reached out, and caught her by the waist, pulling her into his arms.
Instinctively, Li Yunxi wrapped her arms around his neck, afraid he might let go.
With her body pressed against him, Lin Xiao couldn’t avoid noticing—even in the dim lighting, her figure was perfectly outlined, rising and falling with her breath.
The position was intimate.
With her voluptuous curves, Li Yunxi was undeniably a stunning beauty. If not for Lin Xiao’s strong self-control, he might’ve succumbed to primal instincts.
After helping her stand properly, he let out another resigned sigh.
“Do I have something on my face, Miss Li?”
“Nope. You’re just super handsome right now, so I want to look at you a little longer.” Li Yunxi grinned shamelessly. “And also… why are you still calling me Miss Li? We’re so close now. Just call me Yunxi.”
“Fine. Yunxi.” Lin Xiao felt a little awkward saying it.
He wasn’t used to being so familiar with others.
But Li Yunxi was delighted. She slung her arm around his neck, her soft chest pressing against his shoulder.
“That’s better! Sounds way more natural. Hm… now what should I call you?”
She furrowed her delicate brows, her rosy lips pursing in deep thought. She looked adorable, exuding a playful girlish charm completely different from her usual bold persona.
Lin Xiao found himself subconsciously staring.
“Just call me by my name,” he said, his voice calm.
“Ugh, guess I have no choice. No matter how I think about it, Lin Xiao is still the best.” She sighed dramatically, then brightened. “So, what now? Where are we going?”
“I’m taking you home.”
“No way! We barely got to hang out. Let’s go to a hot spring!” Her eyes sparkled mischievously.
“Next time. It’s getting late.” Lin Xiao glanced at his phone. It was past 9 PM, almost 10.
He hadn’t forgotten that Yuan Yu and Huang Caixing were still waiting for him.
“Where do you live? I’ll drop you off.”
“Fine.” Li Yunxi pouted, clearly reluctant.
As the only daughter of Li Liancheng, the richest man in Jinghai, she naturally lived in luxury. Her home was an exclusive villa in a high-end neighborhood.
Lin Xiao watched as she entered the villa gates, then turned and headed toward Maple Leaf Street, where Yuan Yu’s apartment was.
“Big Brother Lin!”
The moment Lin Xiao stepped inside, Huang Caixing sprang from the couch, where she had been munching on chips while watching TV. She threw her snack aside and dove straight into his arms, rubbing her head against his chest like an affectionate kitten.
Right behind her, Yuan Yu also walked over.
She wasn’t as exuberant as Huang Caixing, but the gentle smile on her face and the joy in her clear eyes spoke volumes. She reached out and gently took Lin Xiao’s arm, her gaze landing on the bandages wrapped around his hand. Her expression dimmed slightly.
Lin Xiao patted Huang Caixing’s back, then ruffled Yuan Yu’s hair with a small smile.
“I’m home.”
Yuan Yu’s long lashes fluttered, her eyes shimmering with emotion. She whispered softly, “Welcome home, Big Brother Lin.”
Huang Caixing lifted her head from his chest, her full curves still pressing against him.
Her smile was as bright as sunshine, her dimples sweet and enchanting.
“I knew you’d be back soon! But YuYu didn’t believe me. See? I’m the only one who understands you best.”
Yuan Yu rolled her eyes and huffed.
“Hmph. As if.”
“Hehe! You’re just jealous that I know big brother Lin better than you.” Huang Caixing smirked, then snuggled closer, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist.
“Big Brother Lin, admit it! I totally have a connection with you, don’t I?”
Lin Xiao suddenly felt a headache coming on.
Coughing lightly, he quickly tried to change the subject. “Alright, alright. Why don’t you two put your bags away first? We can talk after that.”
But instead of letting go, Huang Caixing clung to him even tighter, even closing her eyes.
“Nope! Let me hug you a little longer.”
