    Chapter Index

A muzzle flash burst through the night as a bullet shot out of the chamber, spinning through the air toward Lin Xiao.

Da Biao, despite his brutish exterior, was cunning and ruthless.

His shot came without warning. Almost the instant the gun fired, the bullet was already at Lin Xiao’s face.

Lin Xiao tilted his head slightly. The bullet whizzed past his ear. Simultaneously, his left foot pressed hard against the ground and lunged forward. His five fingers curled into a claw, reaching directly for Da Biao.

These men might appear fierce and savage, their faces twisted in aggression, but in reality, they were nothing more than common thugs.

Against these gangsters, who only knew how to act tough but had no real skills, Lin Xiao didn’t even bother using his inner strength. But even without it, his monstrous physical prowess alone was enough to crush them with ease.

Da Biao never expected his shot, one he had been so confident in, to miss entirely. Seeing Lin Xiao charging at him, a surge of panic gripped his chest. Instead of advancing, he instinctively stepped back, widening the distance between them while shouting, “Brothers, get him! Chop him to death!”

The other thugs failed to notice Da Biao’s retreat. Roaring, they rushed at Lin Xiao.

The first to charge was a towering brute, nearly 1.9 meters tall, wielding a steel pipe as thick as a child’s arm. His eyes gleamed with savage intent as he swung the weapon down at Lin Xiao’s head!

The brute knew Lin Xiao was no easy target, so he put his full strength into the strike.

The steel pipe weighed at least ten kilograms. In the brute’s powerful grip, it carried the force of a sledgehammer. If it landed, a normal person would either have their bones shattered or their skull split open.

Lin Xiao’s gaze turned icy, but his momentum remained unbroken. Just as the steel pipe was about to crash down on his head, his free hand shot up. He caught the pipe mid-air.

With a casual tug, the brute’s pupils shrank. He felt an overwhelming force ripple through the steel pipe, almost yanking his entire body off the ground. His face paled, and without hesitation, he released his grip.

Lin Xiao effortlessly snatched the pipe away and, without even looking, flung it backward.

The pipe slammed into a thug who had been attempting a sneak attack. The impact crushed his ribcage as if he had been struck by a massive hammer, sending him flying through the air.

Without pausing, Lin Xiao’s clenched fist rocketed upward, burying itself into the brute’s gut.

The 200-plus-pound man was lifted clean off the ground.

His face turned beet red as he clutched his stomach and collapsed onto the ground, gasping for air like a bloated toad.

All of this happened in mere seconds.

Lin Xiao barely slowed as he stepped past the fallen brute, still aiming for Da Biao.

But at that moment, two gusts of wind roared from behind.

Two machetes—one slashing toward his back, the other aiming at his waist.

More thugs closed in from all directions, weapons swinging down in a chaotic storm of attacks.

    “You overestimate yourselves.”

Lin Xiao abandoned his pursuit of Da Biao. He decided to first clear the field of these irritating pests.

His figure flickered, turning into a blur as he charged straight into the horde like a tiger pouncing into a flock of sheep. Every move he made left bodies crumpling.

A thug wielding nunchaku was kicked several meters away, nearly having his intestines ruptured by the impact. He landed on the ground with a piercing scream, unable to rise again.

Another thug tried to stab Lin Xiao with a dagger—only to be met with a thunderous slap to the face.

His teeth mixed with blood as they sprayed from his mouth. His head spun in place before his entire face went numb. Several seconds later, pain surged through his nerves, and he crumpled to the ground, clutching his cheeks in agony.

In under thirty seconds, over ten thugs lay groaning on the ground.

Lin Xiao struck with terrifying force. Anyone who took a hit was rendered incapable of standing.

    “Un—Unbelievable!”

From the outskirts of the battlefield, Wang Tianping stood dumbfounded, mouth agape.

He had thought his own skills were decent, but compared to Lin Xiao, it was like comparing a giant to an infant—the gap was beyond imagination.

More than that, Lin Xiao’s attacks were crisp, precise, and efficient. No wasted movement. Just watching him fight felt like an enlightenment.

“Who the hell is this guy?! How can he be so powerful?!”

Unlike Wang Tianping’s admiration, Qiao Fei was consumed by dread.

He had been watching Lin Xiao the entire time, watching him tear through his men like an unstoppable force of nature. Every blow landed, and every target fell. The longer he watched, the more his fear grew, waves of horror crashing through his mind.

“This is impossible… we can’t win… I need to get out of here!”

Without making a sound, Qiao Fei started edging backward.

Meanwhile, Da Biao—his expression twisted with hatred—fired his gun again and again.

But Lin Xiao was too fast. Da Biao couldn’t even aim properly. Instead, several of his own men were hit in the chaos.

At last, despair overtook him. Like Qiao Fei, his only thought was escape.

The gangsters had started the fight with confidence. They had been the hunters, surrounding Lin Xiao like a pack of wolves.

But in mere moments, the tide had turned.

Now, Lin Xiao was the predator, and they were the ones being hunted.

“This is insane! We can’t win!”

“We can’t even take one hit from him!”

“Revenge? Screw that! I don’t wanna die!”

When another comrade was sent flying, the remaining seven or eight thugs exchanged glances, then turned and fled without hesitation.

Not a single one looked back. Even Qiao Fei and Da Biao were abandoned.

    “Hah, mere chickens and dogs.”

Lin Xiao shook his head. He hadn’t even used his full strength, yet they scattered like frightened rats.

Within seconds, the battlefield was empty. Even the thugs who had been knocked down earlier were crawling away, trying to put as much distance between themselves and Lin Xiao as possible.

Lin Xiao ignored the fleeing rabble. His focus remained on two people—Qiao Fei, the ringleader, and Da Biao, the gunman.

Those two would not be leaving unscathed.

His gaze swept the area, quickly locking onto Qiao Fei and Da Biao. They had already made it a dozen meters away, scrambling into a black sedan.

    “Think you can escape?”

Lin Xiao’s lips curled into a cold smirk. His body shot forward like a gust of wind, racing toward them.

“Drive! Get us the hell out of here!”

Qiao Fei had abandoned all pretense of composure, frantically shouting orders as he threw himself into the passenger seat.

Da Biao, drenched in sweat, stomped on the gas pedal. The car roared to life and shot forward at full speed.

“That was close! That was so damn close.”

Qiao Fei and Da Biao locked eyes. Both saw the same look in each other’s gaze—sheer relief. But they celebrated too soon.

In mere breaths, Lin Xiao had caught up to the speeding vehicle.

A gleam of ice flickered in his eyes as he leapt—his figure ghostly in the darkness—landing soundlessly atop the car.

Inside, neither Qiao Fei nor Da Biao had noticed the shadow lurking above them.

Still basking in the illusion of escape, they had no idea death was already knocking on their roof.

    Lin Xiao sneered.

Inner energy surged through his legs. His muscles tensed, transforming his calves and feet into something as solid as steel. Then, without hesitation, he stomped down with all his might.
