    Chapter Index

Apart from the young man and the burly man, the others gathered around the Ferrari seemed to be nothing more than lackeys, taking their cues from the young man.

As soon as the young man whistled, they all laughed and jeered. Their gazes toward Li Yunxi and the other three girls were shamelessly brazen. Their eyes roamed over Li Yunxi and the other three, growing increasingly eager, some even gulping subconsciously.

“These four chicks are all gorgeous!”

“Yeah, the one in front is obviously the most stunning, but the other three aren’t bad either. Each has her own charm. I personally like the one with the big chest the most,” a young man in a floral shirt with dark purple-dyed hair said lecherously.

The others nodded in agreement, whispering among themselves, pointing and making crude comments about Li Yunxi and the girls.

As for Lin Xiao, standing beside Li Yunxi, his ordinary appearance and plain clothing made him completely invisible to them.

In their eyes, Lin Xiao wasn’t even worthy of being the green leaves that accentuate a flower—at best, he was just the dirt beneath it. The occasional glance they threw at him was filled with nothing but disdain and scorn.

Lin Xiao remained expressionless, entirely indifferent to their contemptuous looks.

To him, they were nothing more than ants—easily crushed at any moment.

Would an elephant reigning over the jungle care about the opinions of ants at its feet?

    Of course not.

And if an ant were foolish enough to provoke the elephant, its fate would be nothing but death beneath its massive foot.

Though Lin Xiao paid them no mind, he knew one thing for certain—these guys were doomed.

Of all people, they just had to provoke Li Yunxi.

And the more arrogant they acted now, the more miserable their outcome would be.

Li Yunxi was already in a bad mood, and now, with these people leering at her and her friends, her face turned icy cold, her eyes blazing with fury. Her teeth clenched so hard that one could hear them grinding.

She quickened her pace, her long legs striding forward, anger radiating from her body.

Lin Xiao gestured for Fang Yuan and the others to stay put, then casually stuffed his hands into his pockets and followed Li Yunxi at a leisurely pace, as if he were merely there to watch the show.

Li Yunxi soon reached the Ferrari. Despite being outnumbered, she showed no fear at all. Pointing at the young man sitting on the car roof, she shouted, “Bastard! Get the hell off my car, now!”

The young man removed his sunglasses, revealing a rather handsome face. He glanced at Li Yunxi with an arrogant smirk and asked, “So, this car really belongs to you?”

“Of course, you idiot. Or are you telling me it’s yours, you damn turtle?” Li Yunxi snapped, her brows furrowed. “I’ll give you three seconds. If you don’t get down by then, don’t blame me for what happens next.”

“Hahaha! Feisty. I like that,” the young man laughed, seemingly unbothered by her insults. Instead, his eyes glinted with an odd excitement. “Since this car belongs to you, then that makes things easier.”

With a wave of his hand, the few guys sitting on the hood moved aside. He then jumped down from the roof and walked up to Li Yunxi.

“Miss, how about we get to know each other? The name’s Gu Shaojun, you can call me Young Master Gu.”

Gu Shaojun extended his hand toward Li Yunxi, flashing a fake-friendly smile. “They say fate brings people together. Meeting you here must be destiny.”

Li Yunxi sneered, completely ignoring his outstretched hand. The way she looked at him was as if she were staring at a stray dog. “And who the hell do you think you are? You’re not even worth knowing. I won’t waste my breath, just answer me this. Why were you sitting on my car?”

Hearing Li Yunxi’s words, Gu Shaojun’s expression darkened slightly. He awkwardly retracted his hand, his eyes turning cold.

“Do you not remember what happened earlier on the highway?” His voice carried an eerie undertone. “I was the one driving that Lamborghini. Do you understand now?”

“Oh, so it was you.” A glint of coldness flashed in Li Yunxi’s eyes. “What? You lost, so now you’re here to get revenge?”

After saying this, she quickly glanced at Lin Xiao, looking a little guilty.

After all, she wasn’t the one who had won against Gu Shaojun, it was Lin Xiao. Her words were definitely making her look better than she deserved.

Fortunately, Lin Xiao remained silent, standing quietly behind her, playing the role of an unnoticed background character.

Gu Shaojun was clearly irritated by how easily Li Yunxi had seen through his intentions, but he wasn’t about to admit it. Instead, he snorted, “I’m not that petty. But because of you, I crashed my car. That Lamborghini cost 12 million yuan, now it’s totaled. Shouldn’t you compensate me?”

    “Compensate? Compensate your ass!”

Li Yunxi’s temper flared. “You got scared and crashed your own damn car, and now you’re blaming me? Maybe you should stick to driving minivans instead of playing around with sports cars. With your tiny mouse heart, next time you race, you might just end up having a heart attack from the shock.”

Her sharp words struck Gu Shaojun right in his sore spot. His face turned red and white with anger, humiliation flashing in his eyes.

Realizing he couldn’t outtalk her, his expression twisted as he decided to abandon all pretense.

After all, he had the numbers advantage. No matter how sharp-tongued she was, she was still just a woman standing in front of him. Why waste time arguing when he could just take what he wanted?

“You refused the easy way, don’t blame me for being rough.”

Gu Shaojun let out a sinister laugh and snapped his fingers.

At his signal, his lackeys immediately surrounded Li Yunxi and Lin Xiao, their faces hostile, their eyes gleaming with malice.

“Didn’t you have a sharp tongue just a second ago?” Gu Shaojun grinned menacingly. “Go on, keep running your mouth. Let’s see how you beg for mercy in a minute.”

As he spoke, his face twisted into a sneer, his eyes gleaming with ill intent.

But no matter how aggressively Gu Shaojun acted, Li Yunxi remained unfazed.

She cast a glance at Lin Xiao beside her, then nodded as if suddenly realizing something. “Oh, so this is what you were counting on? Now I see.”

“Are you getting scared now?” Gu Shaojun scoffed. “It took quite some effort to track you down, you know.”

Crossing his arms, he leered at Li Yunxi, his eyes running up and down her figure shamelessly.

    “But if you’re willing to—”

Before he could finish his sentence, Li Yunxi suddenly raised her hand and, without warning, delivered a vicious slap across his face.

The crisp sound echoed through the air.

Gu Shaojun’s once-fair cheek instantly swelled, bright red with the imprint of her hand. A trickle of blood seeped from the corner of his mouth.

Though the slap wasn’t enough to knock him down, it was more than enough to humiliate him in front of his men.
