Chapter 427: Looks More Symmetrical Now
by tinytreeEven though the one who got hit was Fu Chengguang, Yuan Yu acted as if she hadn’t seen it. She ignored it and walked directly up to Lin Xiao, grabbing the hand that had just slapped Fu Chengguang, as if afraid Lin Xiao might have hurt his hand.
Lying on the ground, Fu Chengguang saw Yuan Yu’s action and was instantly filled with burning anger and shame. His humiliation intensified. His face throbbed with pain.
If he hadn’t grown jealous after seeing how close Lin Xiao was with Yuan Yu and Huang Caixing, Fu Chengguang wouldn’t have repeatedly provoked Lin Xiao—and ended up utterly disgraced, his dignity trampled into the ground.
At this moment, a deep sense of regret welled up in Fu Chengguang’s heart. Had he known Lin Xiao was this strong, he never would have been so foolish as to challenge him without preparation.
Now he’d been turned into a pig head.
“I’m fine. You and Caixing go join the sports meet. I have a few words to say to him,” Lin Xiao said with a smile, taking the jacket from Yuan Yu’s hands.
“Ah? Okay then… YuYu and I will wait for you outside.”
Yuan Yu glanced at Fu Chengguang, somewhat surprised. She couldn’t understand what Lin Xiao had to say to him, then quickly lost interest, turned her head, and pulled the newly arrived Huang Caixing away.
“Hey, YuYu, why are you pulling me? Big Brother Lin is still here,” Huang Caixing said, puzzled.
“Brother Lin has something to deal with. Let’s wait for him outside.”
Though outwardly gentle, Yuan Yu had a strong will. When she was with Huang Caixing, she usually made the decisions, and this time was no exception.
“…Alright then.”
Huang Caixing reluctantly agreed and followed Yuan Yu out of the basketball court, taking the rest of the crowd with them.
Lin Xiao walked up to Fu Chengguang, grabbed him by the collar, and lifted him off the ground.
In Lin Xiao’s hands, Fu Chengguang was like a puppet, manipulated at will.
The four other students on the court completely lost the will to resist. They exchanged glances, then suddenly turned and bolted.
Lin Xiao didn’t bother chasing them. His target was only Fu Chengguang.
“Stand up straight,” Lin Xiao said indifferently.
Fu Chengguang clutched his stomach with both hands and barely managed to straighten up. The look in his eyes toward Lin Xiao was filled with faint fear as he blustered, “W-what are you trying to do? I warn you, if you dare lay another hand on me, my father won’t let you off!”
“Your father?” Lin Xiao’s tone was calm, without joy or anger.
“My father is Fu Feifeng, chairman of Summit Group!” As he spoke his father’s name, Fu Chengguang seemed to regain some confidence. His tone grew bolder. “If you know what’s good for you, let me go right now! I promise, as long as you apologize, I’ll let this slide. Otherwise, you’ll die a horrible death.”
Though that’s what he said, Fu Chengguang was sneering inside. He had already decided that if he got out of this alive, today’s humiliation would be repaid a hundredfold!
“Summit Group… Fu Feifeng?”
The name sounded familiar to Lin Xiao. Then he remembered—he had encountered the man at a banquet hosted by Li Yuncheng, Li Yunxi’s father, when attending with Wan Caixuan. Fu Feifeng had harassed Wan Caixuan and had been taught a lesson by him.
“As expected, like father, like son. A rat’s son will burrow. The crooked top beam makes a crooked house.”
A mocking, cold smile appeared on Lin Xiao’s face. His eyes were utterly indifferent.
“I hit your father before, and I won’t hesitate to hit you too.”
A strong sense of foreboding suddenly welled up in Fu Chengguang’s heart. His heartbeat quickened. Just as he was about to speak, another slap landed on his face.
This slap sent stars spinning before his eyes. His head buzzed, and the right side of his face swelled up visibly. A few blood-streaked teeth flew from his mouth.
From half a pig head, he became a full pig head.
Fu Chengguang’s body staggered. His legs buckled, and he nearly collapsed to the ground. But Lin Xiao grabbed his shoulder and steadied him.
Lin Xiao’s grip was steady as a rock. Not only did he keep Fu Chengguang from falling, he also made it impossible for him to move.
“W-why… why did you hit me…?”
Fear appeared on Fu Chengguang’s face, his eyes filled with terror.
“This way it looks more symmetrical.”
Lin Xiao’s lips curled slightly. His gaze was cold as he stared at Fu Chengguang. “This is just a warning. From now on, you’re not allowed to even think about Yuan Yu, let alone get close to her. If you do, it won’t just end with a pig head.”
His tone was calm, devoid of emotion—but there was an indescribable chill to his words, a killing intent lurking underneath.
Feeling the pain on his face and looking into Lin Xiao’s cold, killing gaze, tears welled up in Fu Chengguang’s eyes and slid down his swollen cheeks. Suddenly, he burst into loud sobs.
Though usually arrogant and overbearing thanks to his background, he was still just a student. He had never experienced anything like this.
“Please… let me go. I’ll never dare again!” Fu Chengguang sobbed and begged for mercy. “Don’t hit me again! Don’t hit my face! I know I was wrong. I swear to heaven, I’ll never do anything bad again! If I do, I’ll be a bastard!”
“Is that so?” Lin Xiao narrowed his eyes. His deep, tranquil gaze instantly turned sharp, piercing into Fu Chengguang’s soul. “Can I trust you?”
Fu Chengguang nodded frantically. Lin Xiao’s two slaps had left him in utter agony. The pain was one thing. But if it continued, he feared his face would be ruined.
And Lin Xiao’s gaze chilled him to the bone. He even suspected that if he kept mouthing off, Lin Xiao might really kill him.
“Remember my warning. I’m letting you go once and only once. If there’s a next time, it won’t just be two slaps.”
As Lin Xiao finished speaking, his eyes moved suddenly, and the corner of his mouth lifted in a playful smile.
Outside the basketball court, a group of people was charging in with aggressive momentum.
“Go stand over there, your father’s here,” Lin Xiao said, releasing his grip and pointing to the side.
Fu Chengguang’s body shuddered. Through teary eyes, he looked over and saw a group of bodyguards running toward them. Joy bloomed in his face.
“Dad, why are you only getting here now?!”
Somehow, his heart ached again, and tears gushed out once more. He turned to glare viciously at Lin Xiao, about to shout something harsh, but one cold glance from Lin Xiao poured a bucket of ice water over his head. His courage instantly evaporated.
A few seconds later, the group of bodyguards reached Lin Xiao and Fu Chengguang. When they saw Fu Chengguang’s swollen, tear-streaked face, their expressions immediately changed, and they surrounded Lin Xiao.
Fu Chengguang’s wildly beating heart finally settled.
He gave Lin Xiao a cautious glance, then suddenly turned and ran behind the bodyguards, hiding completely from view.
“Young Master Fu, are you alright?”
“Young Master Fu, that guy went too far. How dare he treat you like this?!”
“Don’t worry, Young Master Fu. We’ll definitely get revenge for you!”
Among those who came with the bodyguards were the few students who had fled earlier.
After running away, they feared Fu Chengguang’s retaliation and went to tip off Fu Feifeng. Upon seeing Fu Chengguang’s miserable state now, they were shocked and began fussing over him.
