Chapter 439: You Can’t Escape!

“You’re very smart. You’re not resisting, and not turning to flee. Otherwise, this sword would not have stopped.” Lin Xiao’s sword hand was steady as a rock, his voice calm and even. “I truly don’t want to kill you, and I have many questions to ask. But before that, I need to confirm you pose no threat to me. Take off the mask.”

Purple Fox’s eyes flickered slightly. She remained silent but obeyed, removing the fox mask. Her face was pale, her lips devoid of color, her expression still cold. Even with a sharp sword against her neck, she showed no panic or distress.

“Take off your clothes, too.” Lin Xiao’s eyes swept over her, his tone unquestionable.

Purple Fox trembled. The hands hanging at her sides suddenly clenched. A glint of cold light flashed in her eyes.

“If you plan to humiliate me, you might as well kill me.”

“Relax. I’m not interested in your body.” Lin Xiao’s lips curled into a faint smile. “There’s too much trickery in your outfit. For the sake of a proper conversation, it’s best if you take it off.”

Hearing this, Purple Fox could no longer maintain her composure. She bit her lip.

“Impossible. I’m only wearing this one outfit. There’s nothing underneath.”

“Is that so? Seems like you still haven’t given up.” The smile faded from Lin Xiao’s face, replaced by a cold detachment. “I’m not asking. I’m ordering you to take it off.”

With that, his grip on the sword tightened slightly. A shallow cut appeared on Purple Fox’s neck, and a few drops of blood seeped out.

“If you’ve got the guts, take it off yourself.”

Purple Fox showed no fear. She lifted her chin and stared defiantly at Lin Xiao.

“So be it. I’ll make you give up completely.”

With a flick of his wrist, Lin Xiao spun the sword into a flourish. The pitch-black soft sword flashed with a cold gleam, slashing toward Purple Fox’s body.

With several crisp sounds, a burst of blue steel needles shot from Purple Fox’s sleeves and shoulders, mixed with several sharp blade fragments, all flying toward Lin Xiao’s body.

But Lin Xiao had anticipated this. He waved his soft sword, deflecting every needle and blade midair.

“What a pity…”

A look of disappointment flashed in Purple Fox’s eyes. Then she suddenly felt a chill. Her bodysuit had split neatly down the middle and slid to the ground in two halves.

Just as she said, she truly wore nothing underneath.

Purple Fox instinctively crossed her arms in front of her chest. A blush rose on her pale face. Both embarrassed and furious, she glared at Lin Xiao.

“Satisfied now?”

Lin Xiao calmly averted his gaze. He sheathed his soft sword and tossed his outer coat to her.

“Put this on.”

Purple Fox angrily took the coat, giving Lin Xiao a fierce glare. The coldness between her brows had vanished, replaced by a blend of frustration and shame.

Lin Xiao didn’t even glance at her. He bent down and picked up the bodysuit from the ground.

The suit felt cold and smooth to the touch, soft, but with a metallic texture. Its defensive capabilities were impressive. It was unclear what material it was made of.

Hidden mechanisms were located at the sleeves, shoulders, and waist. Once triggered, they would fire needles and blades.

Even more, the inner lining of the suit was covered with razor-thin throwing knives—each no more than two inches long, glinting coldly, incredibly sharp. They seemed to be made of the same material as Lin Xiao’s soft sword, though possessing entirely different properties.

Holding the suit, Lin Xiao shook it in front of Purple Fox. “Anything else to say?”

“Hmph.” Purple Fox turned her head aside. “You were one move ahead. I have nothing to say.”

“Now we can talk properly.” Lin Xiao tossed the suit aside and stepped toward the underground base’s exit. “This isn’t the place to talk. Let’s go somewhere else.”

Purple Fox stared at Lin Xiao’s completely unguarded back, eyes flickering.

She followed slowly, subtly closing the distance. Then suddenly raised a leg and delivered a sidekick like a lightning bolt, aimed at Lin Xiao’s waist.

As her kick came midair, a gleaming blade silently extended from the tip of her high heel. Her well-proportioned, toned leg became a deadly blur—swift, sinister, and deadly—like a scorpion’s tail stabbing toward its prey.

That blade was the barb on the scorpion’s tail.

But Purple Fox’s body was unbelievably agile. Even mid-air, she adjusted her posture with ease. Using the momentum from Lin Xiao’s throw, she kicked off the wall like a civet cat and dashed toward the base’s exit at astonishing speed.

“You’re not escaping.”

Lin Xiao’s expression was iron. His body blurred—and in an instant, he caught up behind her and lashed out with a whip-like kick.

Purple Fox’s slender waist took the full brunt of the strike. The pain was searing. She let out a cry of agony and lost control of her body, crashing heavily into the wall.

Before she could even slide down, Lin Xiao was already upon her like thunder. His fingers splayed and grabbed her slender neck. He pinned her against the wall, lifting her high.
