    Chapter Index

Chen Lingxin cast a disgusted glance at the man and immediately cursed, “Who’s seen you before? Who says you look familiar? Just one look at you and I can tell you’re no good with your shifty eyes, disgusting.”

Her voice was crisp and clear, like pearls falling on jade, easily heard even in the noisy train car, drawing the attention of nearby passengers.

Even with a thick skin, the man found it hard to save face under the scrutiny of so many eyes. The smile on his face gradually faded, replaced by a flicker of anger in his eyes as he sneered, “Miss, didn’t your parents teach you how to speak? You’re so rude.”

“Guys like you, full of dirty thoughts, this is exactly how I like to speak to you. What of it?” Chen Lingxin lifted her snow-white chin and snorted coldly, “Let me warn you, put away that lecherous look, or if I catch you staring again, I’ll make you regret it.”

The woman beside the man, who had been thoroughly charmed by his sweet words, had no idea what was happening, but Chen Lingxin’s stunning appearance instantly triggered her sense of crisis. She clung tightly to the man’s arm.

    “Baby, what’s going on?”

“Honey, I don’t know. I was just talking to you, and this woman suddenly started cursing me.” The man spread his hands with an aggrieved look. “I thought she looked familiar, but I must’ve been mistaken.”

“Darling, we’re respectable people. Don’t stoop to the level of this uncultured little brat.”

The woman believed him instantly and, full of righteous indignation, glared at Chen Lingxin with jealous eyes.

“Why don’t we move to the front car and sit with my brother?”

“Who are you calling a little brat?” Chen Lingxin’s brows arched sharply, ready to explode.

“Lingxin, enough.” Lin Xiao, who had been resting with his eyes closed, suddenly spoke. His eyes remained shut. “No need to get worked up over such a trivial matter. Sit down.”

“But Master, that guy kept staring at me with disgusting eyes.” Chen Lingxin’s eyes widened, pointing at the man’s nose. “I can’t let it go.”

“I know. If he dares to look again, just hit him,” Lin Xiao said calmly. “But don’t waste your breath. Arguing is the act of a shrew.”

    “Got it, Master.”

Chen Lingxin nodded firmly, no longer sparing a glance at the man or the woman, and sat down next to Lin Xiao.

The man and woman had both heard Lin Xiao’s words and were fuming. Though he spoke to Chen Lingxin, it felt like he was looking down on them.

“Darling, let’s just move to the premium cabin,” the woman said, shaking the man’s arm in a spoiled tone. “I don’t want to see those two anymore.”

She made no effort to lower her voice and heavily emphasized the words premium cabin, clearly flaunting her status.

Chen Lingxin curled her lip in disdain, not bothering to respond.

“Baby, it’s fine. Let’s keep sitting here.” The man cast a sidelong glance at Chen Lingxin and said sarcastically, “Just an uncultured little brat who thinks she’s something. Telling me not to look? I’ll look if I want, what can she do about it?”

Chen Lingxin could no longer hold back. Her face turned icy, and she raised her hand, slapping the man across the face.

The man had been on guard and sneered as he leaned back slightly and reached out with claw-like fingers to grab her wrist, his movement swift and practiced.

It turned out this man had some martial arts skills—no wonder he dared to provoke Chen Lingxin.

But he had overestimated his ability and underestimated her speed.

Just as he was about to grab her wrist, a cold glint flashed in Chen Lingxin’s eyes. Her arm accelerated suddenly, dodging his hand and landing the slap on his face.

    Smack!

A crisp sound echoed. Five distinct fingerprints bloomed on the man’s cheek, his teeth loosened, and his face swelled visibly. He was completely stunned.

His outstretched hand froze mid-air, making him look utterly ridiculous with his swollen cheek.

The slap had finally vented Chen Lingxin’s anger. She withdrew her hand and sneered coldly, “I warned you not to look. You didn’t listen. That’s what you get!”

“You dare hit my darling?!” the woman exploded, leaping from her seat and lunging at Chen Lingxin to get revenge.

But before she could even touch her, her vision blurred—then came a slap to the face.

    Smack!

This woman was even worse than the man in terms of skill. She took the slap full on, mirroring the man with a symmetrical bruise. Quite the amusing sight.

    “You… you… you…”

The woman clutched her face and glared at Chen Lingxin, trembling with rage, unable to form a complete sentence.

The man finally came to his senses. The moment Chen Lingxin struck, he realized he had messed with the wrong person and was no match for her.

“Baby, are you okay? Does it hurt?” he asked while hugging the woman. Then he glared at Chen Lingxin and barked, “Do you know who we are?”

“No, and I’m not interested,” Chen Lingxin replied, flexing her wrist. Her tone and demeanor were identical to Lin Xiao’s. “What, you’re gonna go get a grown-up now? Well, you’re still just kids after all.”

    Pfft!

A passenger in the next row burst out laughing.

Several others nearby struggled to hold back their laughter and turned their heads to avoid being seen by the couple.

What Chen Lingxin said was just too savage.

The man’s face turned from red to white. The threat he had prepared died in his throat, and he could only grit his teeth and say, “Fine! You just wait! You’re done for.”

With that, he helped the woman up and stumbled toward the next car.

“Hurry up! Go get your grown-up!”

Chen Lingxin cupped her hands around her mouth like a megaphone and shouted after their retreating backs.

The man stumbled at her words, nearly falling to the ground.

Chen Lingxin plopped back into her seat, nudged Lin Xiao with her shoulder, and giggled. “Master, I chased those two creeps away.”

“Don’t get too happy yet. What if they really do bring someone back?” Lin Xiao remained upright, not even lifting an eyelid during the whole confrontation.

“Well, I’ve got you, haven’t I?” Chen Lingxin hugged his arm and said nonchalantly, “With you here, what’s there to be afraid of?”

Just as she finished speaking—Bang!—the train car door was kicked open with force.

A burly, tower-like figure stormed in, exuding a menacing aura. His fierce gaze swept the cabin as his voice boomed like thunder, shaking everyone’s eardrums, “Who hit my sister? Step forward!”
