Chapter 485: A Minor Lesson
by tinytreeThe middle-aged man panicked, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. Flustered and angry, he shouted, “Kid, why are you grabbing my wrist for no reason? I don’t even know you.”
“Do you know this man?” Lin Xiao ignored the man’s words and turned to ask Yuan Yu and Huang Caixing.
“No.” The two girls answered in unison.
Huang Caixing looked at the middle-aged man with clear disgust written on her face.
“We were standing here waiting for you when this guy suddenly popped up, saying he wanted to help us and even tried to drag us to the security office. Who does he think he is? What a joke!”
“Since you don’t know him, that makes things easy.”
Lin Xiao’s eyes turned cold. His grip suddenly tightened.
The sound of bones shattering echoed as he crushed the man’s wrist into powder.
The middle-aged man sucked in a breath of cold air. A wave of excruciating pain surged from his wrist, and he couldn’t help but let out a miserable scream. His chubby body thrashed desperately like a pig being dragged to slaughter.
However, no matter how much strength he used, Lin Xiao’s hand was as immovable as a rock.
“I know what you were trying to do and I know exactly what you were scheming.”
Lin Xiao’s voice was cold and sharp, his gaze piercing straight into the man’s soul, making him feel like he’d fallen into an ice pit.
“This is just a small lesson. Remember: don’t go sticking your filthy dog paws where they don’t belong.”
With that, Lin Xiao let go.
The middle-aged man, who had been struggling with all his might, was completely unprepared. He fell straight to the ground, landing on his back in a ridiculous position.
When he accidentally bumped his shattered wrist, another scream tore from his throat. His limbs trembled violently as if he were having a seizure.
The surrounding people, including the few young men who had come with the middle-aged man, were all confused, completely unaware of what had just happened.
None of them realized that, without any dramatic movement, Lin Xiao had already crushed the man’s wrist.
It wasn’t until several seconds had passed that the young men finally reacted. They hurriedly lifted the man off the ground.
“Director Zeng, are you alright?”
“Director Zeng, what happened?!”
The man was drenched in sweat, veins bulging on his forehead, eyes bloodshot. Holding his crushed wrist, he roared furiously at Lin Xiao, “This bastard broke my wrist! Grab him! Don’t let him get away!”
“What?!”
Everyone instinctively looked at Zeng’s wrist—only to see his hand twisted unnaturally, with a purple-red bruise around the joint. The sight was horrifying.
The young men behind Zeng immediately surged forward, surrounding Lin Xiao and shouting accusations, each one filled with righteous indignation.
“How could you be like this?! Our Director Zeng was just trying to help those two young ladies, and you repay kindness with violence? You’re like a dog biting Lu Dongbin, unable to recognize a good person.”
“Yeah, what a heartless guy! He mistook kindness for ill intent.”
“Director Zeng is such a nice person… What’s wrong with the world today? Why do good people never get rewarded?”
“Let’s grab this punk together and make him apologize to Director Zeng and pay his medical fees!”
The young men rolled up their sleeves and moved in on Lin Xiao, clearly ready to attack.
Hearing their words, the bystanders began murmuring among themselves, pointing fingers at Lin Xiao.
But Lin Xiao remained expressionless. His heart held no anger, no joy—only cold detachment as he silently watched their performance.
Behind the crowd, Director Zeng sneered, the pain in his wrist seeming to vanish. Malice gleamed in his eyes.
‘Kid, let’s see how arrogant you are now. So what if you can fight? This world doesn’t run on fists alone. I’ll watch how you get crushed today.’
Seeing how these people twisted the truth and hurled false accusations at Lin Xiao, Huang Caixing was livid.
Her eyes blazed as she pointed at the young men and cursed, “Cut the nonsense! Whether you had good or bad intentions isn’t up to you to say; it’s up to me and YuYu. That fat pig was clearly harassing us, with eyes so disgusting it made me want to puke. And you scumbags aren’t any better. Lying through your teeth like we’re little kids? Try me, I’ll take you to court for abducting young girls.”
Her voice was sharp and loud, cutting through the noisy station and silencing the crowd.
With her words about abducting young girls, the young men immediately turned speechless.
After all, as the victim, Huang Caixing’s words carried far more weight.
Her rebuttal drastically weakened their credibility, and in an instant, suspicious looks shifted away from Lin Xiao and landed on them.
“I knew it. That fatty didn’t look like a decent guy. No way he was just trying to help. He probably had bad intentions because those girls are pretty.”
“Those punks aren’t good either. Harassing girls was one thing, but trying to flip the blame?”
“Look at them now. Can’t even speak. That fatty looks like someone killed his mother.”
“Serves them right. Their lies got exposed on the spot. Lucky they haven’t crawled into a hole yet.”
The onlookers began mocking Director Zeng and his group, voices thick with sarcasm and disdain.
The young men stood awkwardly, like sitting on pins and needles. They didn’t dare move forward or retreat. Uncertain, they instinctively turned to look at Director Zeng.
Large beads of sweat slid down Zeng’s pudgy, pale face. His expression twisted as he gritted his teeth and suddenly roared:
“Quit wasting time! Beat him! Beat him hard. Whoever wins gets a promotion, a raise, and a bonus.”
The young men’s eyes changed.
It had to be said—promotions, raises, and bonuses were tempting. They worked themselves to death for this very reason.
“You want to fight me?” Lin Xiao narrowed his eyes, gently pushing Huang Caixing and Yuan Yu behind him to prevent them from getting caught in the fight.
“I’ll say this one last time. Back off now while you still can.”
“You hurt Director Zeng and think we’ll let you go? Dream on!”
One of the taller young men growled, his eyes vicious. He worked out a lot. His muscular frame stood out, and a tattoo ran across the back of his hand.
“Blame yourself for offending the wrong person.”
With that, the young man let out a loud shout, spreading his arms wide and charging straight at Lin Xiao.
The others moved as well, attacking from various angles to surround Lin Xiao and block any escape routes.
But they were overestimating themselves.
