    Chapter Index

However, these burly men were indeed elite warriors trained by the Wan family. Not a single one of them cried out. Some even attempted to get up and continue fighting, only to be mercilessly knocked back to the ground by Lin Xiao.

Lin Xiao swept his gaze across the scene. Confirming that no one was left standing, he resumed his stride forward.

He walked through the mass of fallen men, heading toward the elevator on the left side of the lobby. Though his steps appeared unhurried, each stride covered nearly two meters.

    “Don’t… don’t go up!”

At the elevator entrance, a man with a deathly pale face lay sprawled on the ground. One of his arms had been violently broken by Lin Xiao, and now he reached out with his remaining arm, grabbing at Lin Xiao’s ankle.

Lin Xiao kicked him square in the chest, sending him sliding several meters across the floor, and then strode into the elevator, pressing the button for the floor where the conference room was located.

    The elevator doors slowly closed.

Watching Lin Xiao disappear into the elevator, the injured man gritted his teeth against the pain and pulled out a walkie-talkie from his coat.

“A man just took the elevator up. He’s extremely strong. We couldn’t stop him. Boss, be careful!”

After a few seconds of silence on the other end, a hoarse male voice replied, “Understood.”

The elevator doors opened, and Lin Xiao, barefoot, stepped out and stood at the corridor’s entrance, turning his head toward the conference room at the end of the hallway.

The door was shut tight, blocking his view, but Lin Xiao knew that Ning Xi and Wan Caixuan were inside.

There was no basis for this certainty—he simply knew.

The corridor was straight, about two meters wide, and the polished floor gleamed like a mirror. From where he stood, it was only about twenty meters to the conference room.

Normally, twenty meters would be but a step away for him, but not now.

In front of him stood seven burly men, all dressed in black suits, looking at him with cold, indifferent eyes.

The killing intent radiating from these men was even more intense than that on the first floor. One of them, in particular, emitted an almost tangible aura.

In addition to the seven men, there were also four young women with refined features and two middle-aged men and women with piercing gazes and restrained breath.

The four young women wore snug black suits one size smaller than standard, accentuating their slender waists, long legs, and curvaceous figures. Like flower buds on the verge of blooming, they were strikingly attractive. But the danger emanating from them was even more palpable than from the men.

To Lin Xiao, however, whether men or women, none posed any real threat. The only true dangers present were the two middle-aged individuals.

They stood on either side of the conference room door.

The man on the left wore a traditional Tang suit. His face was long and stern, his frame lean, standing around 1.75 meters tall. His short hair spiked upward like needles, and his hands were clasped behind his back. Though he appeared relaxed, there was an unmistakable sense of gravitas about him.

The woman on the right wore a modified qipao, revealing two snow-white, full thighs. On her feet were a pair of high-heeled sandals. Her figure was tall and alluring, no less stunning than the younger women. Only the faint crow’s feet at the corners of her eyes hinted at her true age.

She twirled a coldly gleaming throwing dart between her fingers—about three inches long—letting it spin rapidly through her hand, with no concern for injuring herself.

With Lin Xiao’s arrival, the corridor fell into a suffocating silence.

Within that silence, a murderous aura brewed.

What had been a mere twenty-meter hallway now seemed an insurmountable distance.

The smooth, straight corridor might as well have been filled with thorns—impossible to cross.

All eyes focused on Lin Xiao. For any ordinary person, being stared down by so many dangerous individuals would be like a lamb surrounded by wolves—utterly helpless.

But Lin Xiao was no lamb. He was a beast, a predator that killed without blinking and devoured without mercy.

After standing still for a few seconds, he stepped forward.

With each step, his aura intensified severalfold. By the third step, those blocking his way all had serious expressions, as if facing a deadly foe.

The middle-aged pair at the door no longer appeared indifferent. Their eyes flashed sharply, and their bodies exuded overwhelming force as they squared off against Lin Xiao from afar.

Both were ancient martial arts experts with internal energy cultivation.

Lin Xiao’s face remained calm and emotionless. In the depths of his dark pupils, a glint of icy light flickered faintly.

His heart was still as water.

He walked barefoot across the polished floor, the sound of his steps—pat, pat—echoing steadily. He moved neither fast nor slow, like a man striding across a deserted plain.

That calm composure drew the attention of all those before him.

The burly man closest to him, and with the strongest aura, flashed a cold glint in his eyes. He subtly gestured with his hand.

In response, two men behind him lunged at Lin Xiao without a word.

The prelude to battle began once more.

These seven were far stronger than the ones downstairs. On another day, Lin Xiao didn’t mind playing with them a bit.

But Ning Xi and Wan Caixuan were just behind that door. He had no time to waste.

    Whoosh!

Lin Xiao’s body flickered and became a blur, charging into the encirclement. His arm casually reached out, catching a fist mid-swing. Then, with a sudden burst of strength, he swung the massive man like a ragdoll and slammed him into two others.

Two muffled crashes rang out as the other two men were sent flying into the wall, collapsing in a tangled heap.

Seeing Lin Xiao dispatch three peak bright force fighters with such ease, the eyes of the middle-aged pair at the door gleamed sharply. Their estimation of him rose another notch.

The four refined-looking women exchanged glances. Each flipped her wrist and drew a small, razor-sharp dagger from her waist. Like four fierce panthers, they charged at Lin Xiao.

The leading burly man’s eyes flickered with shock—Lin Xiao’s strength was far beyond expectations—but he did not retreat. Instead, he surged forward, appearing in front of Lin Xiao with surprising speed for someone of his size, and launched a massive uppercut toward Lin Xiao’s abdomen.

This punch packed at least a thousand pounds of force!

Yet before it could land, his vision blurred. Lin Xiao vanished.

    Then, his neck tightened.

A hand, filled with boundless strength, seized his throat and slammed him down.

His head smashed into the floor with a sickening thud. Blood burst from his scalp, stars danced before his eyes, his ears rang, and his mind turned to mush. He didn’t even manage a groan before losing consciousness.

He wasn’t weak. Being the squad leader of these elite warriors proved otherwise.

But he had no chance against the monster Lin Xiao. He was defeated in a single move.
