Chapter 349: Setting Off After a Full Meal!
by tinytreeAfter hearing the staff’s frustrations, the executive producer hesitated. He too had seen the heated discussions online and witnessed Wang Yun’s efforts on the livestream. Truthfully, his current teammates were more of a burden than a help.
“I get it,” the producer sighed, “But with how skilled Wang Yun is now, if we give him stronger teammates, who could ever catch him?”
The staff member on the other side nodded, though the executive producer couldn’t see it.
“Yeah, makes sense. Forget it, let’s drop it. We’ve got to work overtime again anyway. I just hope that if something like this happens again, you can give me a heads-up. Otherwise, I’ll have to crawl out of bed to fix the system. It’s exhausting.”
The executive producer chuckled and agreed.
But even if they agreed, who could predict it? Who knew when Wang Yun would stir up another big event?
With the online discussions growing louder and after some thought, the executive producer decided to inform Wang Yun.
After all, the audience was important. They were their bread and butter. The audience’s opinions must be heard. The show was originally a thrilling escape series, so it shouldn’t leave viewers feeling frustrated.

Wang Yun had just gathered a large number of wild fruits and even caught a fat wild chicken.
Just the chicken alone was enough to fill their stomachs. Additionally, there were some mushrooms and wild vegetables suitable for making soup.
As he headed back, the producer’s voice came through his earpiece.
After listening, Wang Yun coldly snorted without even replying.
This left the executive producer feeling like he had punched a cloud—utterly powerless. He didn’t press further and let it be.
Wang Yun, laden with his harvest, returned to their spot.
After putting everything down, he climbed to the mountain peak to scout the area. Across the way, the opposing team was still resting, sleeping soundly.
Currently, Brother Hu and Xiao Gang were about three kilometers away. And that was just the straight-line distance—through the forest, it was even farther.

Half an hour later, smoke rose.
Wang Yun, ensuring they were well-hidden, lit a fire. He roasted the wild chicken and cooked the mushroom soup before waking the other two.
Wang Yun’s actions made the livestream chat explode with outrage.
“Is Big Bro their servant now? What the heck!”
Brother Hu, waking up and seeing the feast Wang Yun prepared, was stunned.
“Holy crap, Boss, did you make all this yourself?”
Xiao Gang sniffed deeply. The aroma was incredible.
Even without seasonings, the naturally made food was delicious. The mushroom soup, squeezed from plant stalks like banana stems, had a rich, fresh flavor.
“Alright, come and eat. Once you’re full, we move on. You two can’t keep dozing off in the next 24 hours. I’ll take the night watch.”
Wang Yun deliberately said this to ease the criticism from the livestream viewers.
Hearing this, Xiao Gang and Brother Hu chuckled awkwardly.
“We’ve just been too exhausted these past few days. Sorry, Boss.”
Xiao Gang smiled sheepishly.
Brother Hu, however, grinned and said, “Don’t worry, Boss! If anything happens, I’ll be the first to charge ahead.”
Wang Yun entirely prepared the meal for the two of them. Having already eaten plenty of bird eggs, he was full.
After a sip of soup, the three resumed their journey.
Though the inspectors were currently resting, Wang Yun knew their habits.
Surely, there would be other teams on the move.
Leading the way, Wang Yun moved with heightened vigilance, listening carefully for any sounds around them. When they reached the midpoint of their path, he heard footsteps from below—not far away.
“Inspectors below! Go! Quick, head up the mountain!”
Wang Yun immediately led the trio uphill.
The mountain peak offered a relatively safer vantage point.
Two hours later, they reached the summit once more.
Wang Yun scanned ahead and saw no cliffs within at least a dozen kilometers. They wouldn’t face immediate danger from sudden drops. That was the good news.
“Boss, where are we heading next?”
Brother Hu, now full and energized, grinned as he walked beside Wang Yun.
Wang Yun shook his head.
“I had a plan before, but now… there’s none. We’ll just take it step-by-step.”
“Boss! Look over there!”
As they chatted, Xiao Gang suddenly pointed toward the spot where they had encountered the inspectors—the place they passed just two hours ago.
“Holy crap! It’s on fire!” Brother Hu exclaimed.
Thick smoke billowed from the area, rising high above the treetops.
A forest fire—one of the deadliest threats in the wild.
