Chapter 382: Sea Fishing Is Simple, You Just Have to Watch Once
by tinytree“Huh?”
Wang Yun turned his head to glance at the butler after hearing Xiao Gang and Brother Hu’s whispering.
The butler stood there, smiling respectfully. He was completely unaware that the two men had just targeted him.
Smack!
Wang Yun slapped Brother Hu on the forehead.
“What the hell are you two thinking?! I haven’t even started playing yet. I had the butler arrange a boat so we could go fishing tonight. It’s rare to get a chance to relax. Back in the mountains, didn’t you two keep talking about how you wanted to eat fresh fish?”
Wang Yun couldn’t help but laugh while speaking. These two were still stuck in character.
Kidnappers? Who were they even planning to kidnap?
The cameras on their chests had already been removed.
Just as Wang Yun shook his head in exasperation, the butler’s walkie-talkie crackled to life.
“Supervisor, the boat is ready. All equipment is set, we can set sail at any time.”
The butler smiled and stepped forward. “Mr. Wang, we’re ready to head out whenever you are.”
His eyes were filled with admiration and excitement. He was also a huge fan of Wang Yun. Watching his performance on the show had been nothing short of breathtaking.
Being assigned to personally assist Wang Yun was a dream come true.
Just seeing Wang Yun in person would be enough for him to brag about in his friend group for a year.
If only he could take a picture.
But unfortunately, no photos were allowed. No sneak shots either. Otherwise, he would’ve already taken a selfie with Wang Yun.
“Alright, you two snap out of it. Let’s go fishing.”
Wang Yun took hold of the two men and dragged them toward the dock.
Even though they had just embarrassed themselves, Xiao Gang and Brother Hu recovered quickly. They weren’t stupid, after all.
But neither of them had expected Wang Yun to remember their random comment about fresh seafood.
Brother Hu, being the shameless one, immediately grabbed Wang Yun’s arm and rested his head on his shoulder, looking deeply moved.
“Boss… you’re so caring. If I had known, I would’ve asked for a full seafood feast.”
“Get lost!”
Wang Yun kicked him aside, and laughter filled the cold hotel lobby.
The three of them set sail. This was their second time going out to sea since arriving in Yun City.
The first time had been a ferry ride to Smoky Forest and the Enclosed Mountain before they left by helicopter.
But this time was different. This time, they were actually relaxing. And they were going fishing.
On the boat, all three of them were thrilled.
Wang Yun had never fished in the sea before, but fortunately, there was a professional sea fishing instructor on board.
On the deck, three different fishing rods were lined up in front of them.
Next to them, three large buckets filled with bait.
The instructor, Xiong Sheng, stood before them and began explaining.
“Gentlemen, these three rods in front of you are the most commonly used in sea fishing. They’re called piercing rods. This type of rod has silk loops running along its length, those are the small loops through which the fishing line passes. The piercing rod has a thinner tip, making it suitable for anglers with good line control skills. But don’t worry, I’ll teach you how to handle it properly. The design reduces friction when casting and retrieving the line, making it very effective for both beginners and professionals alike.”
As Xiong Sheng spoke, Wang Yun and the others listened attentively.
Even though the explanation sounded technical, they were genuinely interested. After all, if they were going to fish, they had to learn how to use the equipment properly.
After introducing the fishing rods, Xiong Sheng demonstrated their proper use.
He explained how to cast the line, how to apply force, and how to reel in properly.
Next, he moved on to the bait.
“For tonight’s fishing trip, we’ll be using live bait, specifically jellyfish. This type of bait is highly attractive to marine fish. Since the jellyfish will be moving in the water, it will naturally draw the attention of larger fish.”
After half an hour of explanations, the boat had reached the center of the sea and finally came to a stop.
At this time of night, the ocean was eerily calm.
The only sounds were the gentle lapping of the waves and the occasional splash from fish playing in the water.
Wang Yun stretched lazily and grinned.
“Alright, enough talk. Let’s see it in action. Mr. Xiong, why don’t you demonstrate for us?”
He knew that experience was the best teacher.
Watching a demonstration would be much more effective than simply listening to instructions.
Wang Yun actually had some fishing experience. Back in his hometown, he used to love fishing as a kid. Of course, those were small ponds and rivers, nothing like this.
He used homemade dough as bait and would prepare a fishing spot hours in advance.
If he was lucky, he could catch a small fish within ten minutes.
If he was unlucky, he might sit there all afternoon without catching anything.
But those were some of the happiest times of his childhood.
Hearing Wang Yun’s suggestion, Xiong Sheng nodded. But at the same time, he smirked slightly.
“This sea fishing is very different from ordinary fishing. Casting the line and waiting for a bite is the easy part, the real challenge is reeling in the fish once it’s hooked. I know that Mr. Wang is skilled in many areas, but I highly doubt you can master fishing just by watching once.”
It was clear that Xiong Sheng wasn’t entirely convinced by Wang Yun’s confidence.
As a seasoned professional, he had spent nearly twenty years in the industry and had even competed in international sea fishing tournaments.
In all his years, he had never once seen someone pick up sea fishing so effortlessly.
