Chapter 415: What Kind of Perfect Couple Is This?!
by tinytreeXiao Yanran’s sudden change in demeanor left everyone a little at a loss.
She had just looked delighted a second ago, but why did she suddenly look so guilty now? And with those misty eyes, she looked heartbreakingly pitiful.
This made Wang Yun panic a little. He quickly waved his hands.
“What are you saying, silly girl? How could I ever blame you? I know exactly what kind of person you are. There aren’t many girls nowadays who are this kind and considerate. You deserve all of this, don’t overthink it, okay?”
As he spoke, Wang Yun stepped forward and, without even realizing it, pulled her into a hug.
It all felt so natural, like the next logical step.
Xiao Yanran stared blankly in his sudden embrace, her anxiety swirling visibly in her eyes. Her heart, already pounding, began to race even faster. It was so fast she could barely process anything.
Brother Wang Yun hugged her.
Brother Wang Yun actually hugged her!
And—and there were so many people watching!
Aaahhh!
Whoosh!
After two or three seconds of stunned silence, Xiao Yanran finally snapped out of it. Her cheeks were as red as a ripe apple.
Burning hot, but sweet.
Her limbs felt weak. Or maybe… maybe she just didn’t want to pull away from this hug.
“Ahem! I’m getting jealous here, seriously jealous! An engagement ring worth over a hundred million, and she just up and donates it? And now you’re feeding me dog food right in front of my face. Do you people not care about how others feel at all?!”
As Wang Yun held her and Xiao Yanran stood frozen, Zhu Xiaoxiao’s loud voice rang out from behind.
Her outburst snapped the butler and security guard back to their senses. They stared at the two with envious eyes, and from the bottom of their hearts, they admired Xiao Yanran.
Before, they envied Xiao Yanran. Now, they envied Wang Yun.
What more could a man want but to find a woman who wasn’t swayed by material things?
The butler suddenly felt a sharp pang in his chest.
Once upon a time… he had felt something like this too.
“I—I…”
Xiao Yanran’s thoughts were completely disrupted by Zhu Xiaoxiao. She hurriedly took a step back, pulling away from Wang Yun’s embrace.
But she didn’t dare lift her head to face anyone.
Wang Yun felt a little awkward too. He rubbed his nose sheepishly.
After all, he was a lifelong bachelor until now.
“Uh, anyway, let’s not just stand around here. The September wind’s a bit chilly, let’s head inside. Yeah, let’s go in.”
Wang Yun was clearly pulling that out of nowhere. It was only early September, and the breeze still carried a trace of warmth.
What chilly wind?
“Yes, yes, let’s eat! I’m starving!”
Xiao Yanran hurriedly echoed the change in topic, turning around and walking away.
“Miss, the door’s this way.”
The butler called out just in time from behind. Only then did Xiao Yanran correct her direction. But the way she did it made Wang Yun burst into a quiet chuckle.
This silly girl was way too cute.
Japanese cuisine, as the name suggests, focuses on quality over quantity.
This place was more of a private kitchen than a regular restaurant, and the ambiance was excellent. Even the servers were highly respectful of privacy. Not one of them looked directly at Wang Yun or the others. They simply stood by and greeted them with a respectful nod.
The environment was classy and refined. The lighting was slightly dim, with soft music playing in the background.
The moment you stepped inside, it felt like you’d walked into a palace from the last century.
It gave you the illusion that you were some kind of noble royalty.
“Sir, your reserved room is ready. We’ll serve each course according to your party’s number, one by one. Until everything meets your satisfaction.”
Standing in front of a private room, the butler opened the door respectfully and spoke.
When he looked at Wang Yun and Xiao Yanran, there was awe in his eyes.
One could casually give away a ring worth over a hundred million, while the other could just as casually donate it.
Neither of these people was ordinary.
Guests like these came along once in a hundred years. This was what it meant to be truly elite. This was a match made in heaven.
To them, money probably was just… a string of digits.
“Alright. Thank you.”
Inside the room was a square table. Above it hung a beautifully designed crystal chandelier. To the left, elegant grey curtains. To the right, a long velvet sofa. The whole space was enormous, so big that it felt like your voice would echo if you spoke too loudly.
Yet it also gave off an incredibly comfortable feeling.
And the room offered complete privacy. No servers were standing by inside. But every seat had a service button; just press it, and someone would come in.
Other than serving dishes, the rest of the time was entirely their own.
“Wow, this place is crazy fancy. How much would a single meal here cost?”
Zhu Xiaoxiao couldn’t help but gush as she walked in. She’d never been to a place like this in her entire life.
“This doesn’t even feel like a restaurant. More like an art gallery. I almost don’t want to eat here. It feels like I’d be ruining the vibe.”
Xiao Yanran quietly echoed her sentiment from the side.
The two of them looked around cautiously, like startled magpies.
Wang Yun also casually glanced around and nodded in agreement.
“Yeah, it’s pretty nice. My sister-in-law recommended this place. Oh, by the way, don’t make any other plans for tomorrow night. Come to my sister-in-law’s place for dinner. She picked out all the gifts today and insisted on meeting you.”
Wang Yun seized the opportunity to mention it.
Xiao Yanran had been admiring a painting on the wall, but when she heard this, her head turned slowly.
Her face was full of panic and nervousness.
Seeing her expression, Wang Yun couldn’t help but laugh again.
That had become her signature look today.
Seriously—how can a girl be this cute?
