Chapter 454: Such a Mysterious Man. Who Is He?
by tinytreeXiao Qian pointed toward a villa not far ahead.
Two receptionists stood at the front entrance, both dressed in elegant qipao, their appearances refined and striking.
The villa itself wasn’t particularly eye-catching. If not for Xiao Qian leading the way, it would’ve been easy to miss, even when standing right in front of it.
That was because two towering trees loomed in front of the building, their broad canopies casting deep shade that almost completely obscured the villa from view.
“Alright,” Wang Yun said with a nod to Xiao Qian.
As a property staff member, it wouldn’t be appropriate for him to accompany them inside.
With a polite gesture, Xiao Qian saw them off as Wang Yun, Xiao Yanran, and Zhu Xiaoxiao approached the entrance at a relaxed pace.
As they reached the door, the two receptionists stepped forward to open it.
The moment the doors swung open, they were greeted by a spacious, opulent living room. In its center hung a magnificent crystal chandelier. Its dazzling brilliance made the entire space shimmer, even though it wasn’t yet dark outside.
Under its light, the entire villa exuded the aura of a palace at midnight. It was dreamlike, magnificent, and enchanting.
Even more impressive, the soft strains of a cello drifted through the air the moment they stepped inside.
Clearly, the villa’s soundproofing was top-notch; they hadn’t heard a note until they were through the door.
“Brother Wang Yun, you’ve arrived!”
Luo Fei was on the first floor chatting with several other residents, but his gaze had been fixed on the entrance the entire time.
He was a member of the owners’ committee and ran a jade business in Magic City.
After hearing about how Wang Yun had saved the coach at the gym, Luo Fei had quietly begun investigating the young man’s background.
What he discovered surprised him: Wang Yun’s background was completely blank.
It was as if he had appeared out of thin air.
What was even stranger was that the villa Wang Yun now occupied hadn’t been bought under his own name. Instead, the funds had been transferred from a corporate account, like an official business expense.
Yet the chairman of that company had no known ties to Wang Yun. There wasn’t even a shareholder with the surname Wang.
And yet, this company had casually thrown down forty million yuan to buy this villa, only to gift it, outright, to the young man standing before him.
There was no doubt about it, this was an act of blatant flattery.
The company in question was famous both domestically and internationally. For an organization of that caliber to curry favor with a young man?
It meant only one thing: whoever was backing Wang Yun must be unimaginably powerful.
And that was exactly why Luo Fei had gone out of his way—again and again—to invite Wang Yun in person.
“Brother Wang Yun, you finally made it! Perfect timing, we’re just about to begin.”
Luo Fei hurried over and greeted him warmly, extending his hand.
Wang Yun responded with a polite smile. “You’re too kind, Brother Luo.”
After a firm handshake, Wang Yun gestured toward the two women beside him.
“This is my fiancée, and this is a friend of ours. Apologies for not giving you a heads-up beforehand.”
He spoke with ease and composure, neither haughty nor humble.
Luo Fei turned to the two women, offering them a welcoming smile. With a wave, one of the receptionists approached carrying a tray of champagne.
“Don’t mention it, Brother Wang. It’s an honor to have your fiancée and friend here tonight. It shows that you’re willing to accept us. Ladies, if you don’t mind, may I offer you a glass of champagne? It’s imported straight from the Land of Liberty, said to be a holy grail for beauty and skincare.”
Luo Fei was a master of social graces. His words struck the perfect balance—courteous, but not overly familiar, like a refined elder who knew just how far to go.
It instantly put both Xiao Yanran and Zhu Xiaoxiao at ease.
After all, this was their first time attending such a high-caliber banquet. One look at the other guests’ attire, and it was clear: the combined net worth in this room could shake all of Magic City.
Wang Yun appreciated Luo Fei’s thoughtful hospitality and felt his impression of the man improve further.
“Brother Wang,” Luo Fei continued, “quite a few of the other homeowners are eager to meet you. Since dinner hasn’t started yet, how about I make some introductions?”
He finally got to the point.
Before this event, Luo Fei had already spoken with the other residents about Wang Yun—and they, too, were shocked by his mysterious identity.
Not to mention his stunning display of medical skill at the gym, and that practically superhuman physique.
Anyone with half a brain knew: Wang Yun was someone worth knowing.
Whether or not he had a powerful background, befriending a skilled and discreet doctor was never a bad thing.
And Wang Yun’s air of mystery only made him more intriguing.
Wang Yun hesitated slightly at Luo Fei’s suggestion.
If he left, what would happen to Xiao Yanran and Zhu Xiaoxiao? They didn’t know anyone here.
Seeing his pause, Luo Fei immediately understood.
He gave himself a playful slap on the forehead and chuckled.
“Look at me, such a blockhead. How could I let my brother leave the ladies behind? How about this, are the two ladies interested in fashion or skincare? We’ve got a ladies-only VIP lounge on the third floor, stocked with all kinds of limited-edition skincare products, designer jewelry, and handbags. All from major international brands, prepared especially for the women of our community. I’m not too knowledgeable about this stuff, but I’d be happy to have someone take you both up for a look?”
He offered with a smile.
“Exclusive access to major brands?” Zhu Xiaoxiao’s eyes lit up. “Dear god! I knew the wives in these upper-crust communities got VIP service from all the big names, but I never thought I’d experience it myself!”
Luo Fei gave her a confirming nod.
Zhu Xiaoxiao was instantly giddy.
“Yanran, I have to go see this!”
A self-proclaimed beauty connoisseur, Zhu Xiaoxiao was a true expert when it came to skincare and cosmetics. Nearly every cent she earned went toward beauty products.
Now that she’d heard this, there was no way she could stay still.
