    Chapter Index

The livestream audience erupted the moment Wang Yun spoke.

What they wanted most was to see Wang Yun go on the offensive against the program inspectors. Originally, they were expecting to watch him perform after the three-day mark. They never imagined he’d just dive in right away!

    “Boss, then…”

“Stick close to me. Keep your eyes peeled at all times.”

With that, Wang Yun entered full alert mode.

Xiao Gang instantly snapped to attention as well.

The street was still bustling with people. Some restaurants had begun service, setting up outdoor seating in garden courtyards. And the program inspectors walking the streets had no idea that danger was already creeping toward them.

“Pick up some stones,” Wang Yun instructed Xiao Gang.

Stones were everywhere, mostly small pebbles. Some restaurants even had decorative stone piles by their entrances, easy pickings.

Without a word, Xiao Gang began stuffing suitable ones into his pockets.

He and Wang Yun already had a solid tacit understanding. He’d once made slingshots as weapons, so throwing projectiles was nothing new to him.

    “Huh?”

“Brother, you don’t need that many.” Wang Yun glanced at Xiao Gang’s bulging pants pockets.

The guy could barely walk straight, waddling like a penguin, swaying side to side with every step.

“Ah—” Xiao Gang awkwardly covered his pockets.

    Wang Yun chuckled.

“Just keep what you need. No need to go overboard.”

“But I might need this much,” Xiao Gang said, completely serious.

‘Well. Fine. Whatever makes you happy.’

Wang Yun had god-level alertness skills. But that wasn’t the same as danger-sensing. Alertness just heightened his vigilance; it didn’t predict danger.

“Head to the southernmost area. That’s where the residential buildings are. We’ll find inspectors there.”

    Wang Yun changed their route.

No more wandering the commercial streets. They were heading for the apartments. And when Wang Yun started theorizing, he was almost never wrong.

Sure enough, four teams of program inspectors were sweeping the area over by the residential blocks. Each had carved out their own section and was working in harmony.

Unlike the previous season, there was no infighting now.

Among them, the Qiqiha team had the largest numbers.

They operated in groups of twenty. Three people were assigned to each building unit. The other teams were stretched thinner, one inspector per unit. But none searched as thoroughly as the Qiqiha team. They even entered the residents’ homes.

With zero shame, they’d claim they were a program crew shooting a segment, asking to tour the decorations and furniture.

And shockingly, it worked pretty well.

Of course, they were sometimes turned away, but they didn’t press.

If the residents were wary enough to block outsiders from entering, there was no way fugitives could hide inside either.

“Reporting, Captain, Building 23 is clear!”

    “Captain, Building 17’s clear too!”

Voices came through steadily in the observation room. All negative reports with no suspicious individuals found.

Back in the Dragon Nation’s observation room, a fresh report came in.

“Captain! We’ve got something in Building 3! An A-rank fugitive spotted!”

An A-rank fugitive was worth five points.

“Move in and make the arrest immediately! I don’t care what it takes, just catch them. But remember: your own safety comes first,” Wu Yaoming issued the command without hesitation.

    “Understood!”

Among all thirteen teams, Dragon Nation was the first to locate a fugitive. But the teams were all operating close together.

Once Dragon Nation made their move, the others would notice too.

“Report! Dragon Nation just found the enemy,” called out a Hahabaye Tribe member.

“Fight them for it! Right now it’s not about teams, it’s about points,” the tribal chief barked.

And it wasn’t just them. The Police Family and Qiqiha team had also picked up on the commotion.

“Whoever gets this fugitive earns a 10,000 yuan bonus!”

The Royal Family’s leader went all in, offering a cash reward on the spot.

That lit a fire under their team, like they’d been injected with pure adrenaline. They bolted for Building 3.

“Bastards! Have you no shame?” Wu Yaoming bellowed, furious at the chaos unfolding on his screen.

A mass of people was rushing toward Building 3.

This wasn’t about fugitives anymore. It had become a full-blown war between the program inspectors.

Zhao Youcheng seized the mic the moment he saw the situation.

“How many of our people are inside Building 3?”

The footage was already full of noise with footsteps and voices echoing in all directions.

“Captain, we have eight members inside Building 3. The nearest reinforcements are over 600 meters away. Requesting backup!” said the squad leader on the walkie-talkie. He understood immediately just how serious this had become.

“Send support!” Zhao Youcheng opened the all-channel comms. “All units, proceed to Building 3 immediately. Follow A-level engagement protocol. Remember! The fugitive isn’t your top priority; your own safety is.”

At Zhao Youcheng’s order, every unit stationed in the southern district began converging on Building 3.

It wasn’t just Dragon Nation; teams from all other countries were doing the same.

And so, a terrifying sight began to unfold.

Like survivors fleeing an earthquake, an enormous crowd surged forward. All heading to the same destination.
