Chapter 443: Sir, Is There Really a Need for Personal Attacks?
by tinytreeOnly forty million!
Was that even something a normal person would say?
At the front desk of the gym, there were just two young women and a floor supervisor. Not a lot of staff, which was by design.
The goal was to create a boutique experience for members, one that didn’t feel as chaotic as a public market.
In truth, though, the real reason was simple: very few people actually came to this gym during the day.
Only in the evenings did things get livelier.
During peak hours, they’d staff up to eight people at the front desk.
“Mr. Wang is truly a man of means,” Xiao Qian said to Supervisor Zhang, his voice full of awe. “Make sure he’s taken care of. Assign him the best fitness butler we’ve got.”
Just how wealthy was this man to treat forty million like loose change?
Once someone reached this level, money stopped being money; it became a mere number. And with it came power.
Supervisor Zhang bobbed his head rapidly, bowing even more deeply than before.
“Of course! Mr. Wang, just step over here for a quick photo. And don’t worry, our system is fully confidential. Your image will never be leaked.”
He said it like a solemn vow, worried Wang Yun might refuse to cooperate.
Wang Yun gave a slight nod and stepped forward for the scan.
The whole thing took less than a minute.
“Mr. Wang, Supervisor Zhang will handle everything else from here. If you need anything at all, I’m available 24/7,” Xiao Qian said with a smile.
Wang Yun simply waved him off; he just wanted to get in a workout.
He had less than two hours before he needed to pick up Xiao Yanran.
“Let’s move.”
At Wang Yun’s signal, Supervisor Zhang quickly led the way.
They took the elevator up from the lobby. The second floor was a swimming pool, the third floor was equipped with cardio and strength-training machines, and the fourth was dedicated to niche sports like golf and archery.
Wang Yun’s only goal today was the weight training floor.
When they reached the third floor, he was greeted by a wide, open space.
A quick glance told him everything. All the equipment here was top-of-the-line, the latest in smart technology. While not overly crowded, it had more than enough to meet his needs.
It was the afternoon, so there were only a few people using the gym, and most of them were residents of the complex.
After all, outsiders who paid steep membership fees weren’t likely to show up in the middle of the day.
“Xiaoyong, over here,” Supervisor Zhang called out toward a nearby VIP room.
A tall man—easily six foot three—with a heavy, muscular build emerged from inside.
“This is Mr. Wang. From now on, you’ll be his personal trainer,” Supervisor Zhang instructed. “Take good care of him. He’s the VIP of all VIPs in this place.”
That last line was delivered with deliberate weight.
Xiaoyong’s pupils shrank slightly as realization dawned. He lowered his head and extended a hand toward Wang Yun with a courteous smile.
“Mr. Wang, it’s an honor to be assigned to you. May I ask what areas you’d like to focus on? Though, if I may say so, your physique already looks excellent.”
Xiaoyong gave Wang Yun a once-over.
He was strikingly handsome—very handsome.
Even through clothing, his trained eyes could tell Wang Yun’s body had been sculpted with intention.
Not just that—his posture, his stride, his aura… Everything spoke of power and control.
It gave Xiaoyong a strange sense of pressure.
At the same time, Wang Yun was quietly assessing him.
His build was impressive, his attitude professional. But those massive muscles looked a bit too artificial. They had the telltale look of excessive protein shakes and supplement cycles. In short, flashy, but fake.
Without a word, Wang Yun turned to Xiao Qian and said, “I’ll train by myself.”
With that, he headed straight for the equipment area.
Both Supervisor Zhang and Xiaoyong froze in place.
Zhang scrambled after him, chuckling awkwardly. “Of course, of course! If Mr. Wang needs anything, Xiaoyong will be nearby. He’s incredibly accomplished—placed top ten in the international fitness competition this year. And just last month, he received his S-class certification. He’s one of our star trainers. Several celebrities here in Magic City take private lessons with him, you know!”
He followed behind Wang Yun, rattling off accolades without pause.
Wang Yun didn’t even get a chance to speak before Zhang launched into another round.
“You can trust our gym with your eyes closed, Mr. Wang—”
“Are you done?” Wang Yun turned around, his expression ice-cold.
“If I wanted all those honors you’re bragging about, I could get them in my sleep. He’s not qualified to train me.”
That last line was delivered flatly, but with the weight of a hammer.
Zhang’s smile froze.
Not qualified?
He blinked, certain he’d misheard.
Before he could process it, Xiaoyong stepped forward.
Say what you will about his personality, but questioning his professionalism?
It was unacceptable.
Even if the guy was rich, that didn’t give him the right to insult people like this.
“Mr. Wang, if you prefer to train alone, that’s your right,” Xiaoyong said, his voice low but steady. “Our services are complimentary for residents, but there’s no need for personal attacks.”
He met Wang Yun’s gaze directly.
Xiaoyong had worked here for years. His salary and reputation rivaled those of corporate execs. Many residents had grown friendly with him over time.
In his mind, he was almost part of the ownership class himself.
