Chapter 457: International Superstar: Bingbing Has Arrived!
by tinytreeXiaoming immediately grasped Luo Fei’s hand with both of his, his face full of sincere respect and gratitude.
“If it weren’t for you pulling in the sponsors, Brother Fei, this project of mine wouldn’t have gone so smoothly. I really owe it all to you.”
He chuckled as he spoke.
Nearby, a man sporting a Rolex handed over a glass of champagne.
“Xiaoming, you’ve had a long trip, have a drink and soothe your throat. I dropped by your hotpot place a couple days ago. Gotta say, the flavors were excellent.”
Rolex offered the glass with a friendly grin.
Xiaoming accepted it without hesitation.
“When did you go, Brother Feng? Why didn’t you call me? I would’ve arranged something for you.”
“Arrange what? It was just a meal.”
“That won’t do! All the ad campaigns for my hotpot brand were thanks to you. This one’s on me, I’ll have my assistant send over a premium membership card. From now on, if anyone here visits my hotpot restaurant, meals are on the house.”
As he spoke, Xiaoming quickly pulled out his phone and typed out a message.
His sharp sense of networking instantly earned praise from all the other homeowners present.
Wang Yun watched the scene with quiet clarity.
He had been wondering—these two celebrities weren’t exactly small names, and they owned properties all across the country. Why go out of their way to attend a casual neighborhood owners’ party?
It seemed pointless.
But now, he understood. It was all business.
Investments. Sponsorships. A bit of exposure.
Clearly, they knew how to play the game.
“Come on, come on, I got so caught up in chatting I nearly forgot to introduce our newest homeowner,” Luo Fei said, pulling Xiaoming over and pointing to Wang Yun.
Xiaoming immediately downed the champagne in one smooth motion and raised his empty glass toward the Rolex man, who nodded in approval.
“Oh? Who’s this handsome guy? A rising star in the entertainment world?”
Xiaoming’s eyes sparkled with intrigue as he saw Wang Yun.
He’d seen plenty of good-looking men in his time, but even he had to admit that Wang Yun had a striking face.
“Haha, even you got tricked, huh?” Luo Fei said proudly. “This is Brother Wang Yun. He lives in Building 8. A phenomenal doctor—”
Before he could finish, Wang Yun raised a hand to stop him.
“Brother Luo, I’m not a doctor. Just someone with an interest in medicine.”
“What? You’re not a doctor?” someone else chimed in, the man in the baseball cap from the earlier rescue scene. “My god, then the way you saved that guy, your skills were even better than a real doctor’s!”
Wang Yun remembered him clearly; he’d been there that day.
“Oof, even more impressive than,” Luo Fei jumped in with a laugh. “Look at this young brother of ours. To have such skill at his age, this gathering was worth it just for that!”
He beamed at Xiaoming, who nodded in apparent admiration.
Of course, most of that admiration was performative. Events like this were all about exchanging praise and favors.
“By the way, Brother Wang Yun,” Xiaoming added, “your name’s the same as that guy from that super popular variety show. You’re not… him, are you?”
He smiled as he said it, watching Wang Yun’s reaction carefully.
Wang Yun raised an eyebrow slightly.
This one’s sharp.
But he didn’t answer, just returned a polite smile.
Xiaoming was observant, and being the owner of Building 8’s villa—the most expensive unit in the whole complex—meant he wasn’t someone to underestimate. Anyone who could afford that property likely had deeper pockets than even he did.
“I’m Xiaoming. Pleased to meet you. Let’s add each other on WeChat later. I love making friends with handsome guys.”
He laughed, reaching out a hand.
Wang Yun shook it courteously.
He didn’t really know these people, so after a bit of small talk, he excused himself and went upstairs to check on Xiao Yanran and Zhu Xiaoxiao.
The two were already having the time of their lives.
They’d picked out several outfits that suited them, and even each snagged a new purse. It wasn’t until Bingbing arrived that they reluctantly made their way back downstairs.
By then, it was already 6:30 p.m.
The aroma of freshly prepared food filled the entire house.
“Is that Bingbing? I think I heard her voice!” Xiao Yanran exclaimed as she descended the stairs, her face glowing with excitement. She tried to keep her voice low, but the way her whole body was practically bouncing gave her away.
“She’s probably here, Xiaoming’s already downstairs,” said Wang Yun.
“Xiaoming too? Oh my god, I love watching him on variety shows!” Zhu Xiaoxiao shouted in delight.
The three of them hurried down to the second floor.
As they reached the hallway, they could already hear the buzz of conversation coming from the private room at the far end.
Stepping inside, they spotted a tall, elegant woman standing amidst the crowd. Her long, lustrous black hair made her stand out instantly.
“Brother Wang Yun, you’re back! Did you pick out anything you liked?” Luo Fei called out warmly.
Before Wang Yun had gone upstairs earlier, Luo Fei had casually tried to pry for a few details he was curious about.
But Wang Yun had answered every question with graceful evasiveness.
Especially when he clarified he wasn’t a doctor, just someone interested in the medical arts.
Even so, he’d managed to save someone’s life with ease. That alone was enough for Luo Fei to consider him a man worth building ties with.
“Mhm. My fiancée and her friend are big fans of Ms. Bingbing, so I brought them to meet her.”
As Wang Yun spoke, Bingbing, who had overheard him, slowly turned around.
And in that moment, it was as if the room dimmed and the world around her faded into the background.
