Chapter 461: See You at the Tea House at 2 p.m.
by tinytreeIt was probably for the best that Min Zhengguo hadn’t heard that last remark; otherwise, his blood pressure might’ve skyrocketed on the spot.
After Wang Yun hung up the call, he figured it would take at least an hour or two before that guy sent over an address.
To his surprise, the message came through in under a minute.
The meeting place was a tea house.
The time was 2:00 in the afternoon.
That left six hours to kill.
Still early. Wang Yun decided to hit the gym and get a proper workout in. He hadn’t trained properly in the last two days, and he’d been slacking for a while now. With less than two weeks to go before the next filming of the program, he needed to get back in shape.
After a quick wash-up, he headed downstairs.
The moment he walked into the gym, everyone who saw him reacted like they were standing at attention.
“Mr. Wang’s here!”
“Wow, Mr. Wang’s early again. Such dedication!”
“Mr. Wang, with a physique like yours, and you still show up at the gym? Truly an inspiration!”
Every staff member who passed by made a point to greet him warmly.
Ever since Wang Yun had rescued Xiaoyong, his popularity in the neighborhood had exploded. Everyone knew who he was, and everyone wanted to meet him.
Wang Yun responded with polite smiles and nods. Thankfully, the gym was empty aside from staff. There were no residents around. Otherwise, he’d have been stuck in endless small talk.
“Mr. Wang, I’ve prepared a fruit platter and some mineral water for you,” said Supervisor Zhang, hurrying over with a tray. “If you need anything, just let me know. The private lounge is also ready; there’s a personal shower inside.”
He placed the tray beside the treadmill. The fruit platter was elegant and colorful, clearly imported. There was also premium bottled water and a small selection of protein supplements typically favored by gym-goers.
Everything had been thoughtfully prepared.
“Thanks,” Wang Yun said.
“Oh, you’re too polite, Mr. Wang.” Supervisor Zhang quickly waved it off.
“If it weren’t for you saving Xiaoyong that day… I don’t even want to imagine what could’ve happened. He’s still in the hospital, but he said he’s going to thank you in person once he’s discharged.”
Wang Yun stepped onto the treadmill and hit the start button. The speed began to climb steadily.
Supervisor Zhang, noticing Wang Yun wasn’t in the mood for conversation, tactfully stepped back.
“I’ll let you get to it then. I won’t disturb you.”
Wang Yun gave a small nod, then dialed the speed up to twelve.
In the next second, the whir of the treadmill filled the room.
The staff nearby all turned to look, wide-eyed. Their faces were full of disbelief and envy.
“I swear, this guy must’ve hit the genetic jackpot. Not only born into the right life, but with looks and a perfect physique.”
“Forget near perfect, this is perfection. Even Xiaoyong can’t compare. And did you know he’s trained in medicine too?”
“I heard he showed up at the residents’ gathering yesterday. People were dying to know what he does for a living. Any guesses?”
Staff gathered near the bar, watching Wang Yun sprint, whispering among themselves.
“He probably owns a company, right?” one girl guessed.
Her eyes sparkled, but it was clear she admired from afar, not because she didn’t have thoughts, but because she didn’t dare.
Guys like Wang Yun didn’t even show up in dreams.
“I heard from Brother Feng that when Mr. Wang introduced himself, he only said one thing. He said, ‘I don’t know how to do anything, but I’m good at everything.’ ‘I don’t have a job or run a company. I just have money I can’t finish spending.’”
“What?!”
Everyone let out a collective gasp, then quickly clapped their hands over their mouths.
The one repeating his words wore an exaggerated expression, nodding hard.
“That was my exact reaction too. Crazy, right?”
His face betrayed pure envy and more than a little admiration.
The others around him looked absolutely awestruck.
If someone else had said that, they’d have laughed and called him a bragger. But coming from Wang Yun sounded like gospel.
Even if he was wearing clearly fake branded clothes, not a soul would believe he bought knockoffs. They’d just assume someone had tricked him.
That was Wang Yun’s aura—natural-born, unshakable.
Unmatched.
With no one interrupting him, Wang Yun ran for a full hour without stopping.
During that time, several personal trainers drifted in one after another. They circled around discreetly, inspecting him visually, trying to see if he was alright. By the time the hour was up, every trainer in the gym had stopped by at least once.
When they confirmed that he really was fine and that his body could withstand that level of explosive output, they were left dumbfounded.
If not for the professionalism of their jobs, they would’ve posted him all over social media right then and there.
This guy’s a monster… hell, he’s not even human!
After the run, Wang Yun moved to the equipment zone and began strength training.
For every machine, he maxed out the weights.
Clank after clank, he powered through the sets.
Not a single break.
Three hours later, Wang Yun walked out of the gym, relaxed and energized. Behind him trailed a room full of shocked, dazed stares.
