Chapter 464: Young Man, No Sense of Time at All!
by tinytreeSomeone falling into the water—this was a first for the tea house.
And it was no small incident.
Most of their clientele were prominent figures. If something serious had happened, no one could shoulder the responsibility.
“No need.”
Wang Yun wiped the water from his face and, with a single leap, climbed out of the pond.
Min Xiaoya stood frozen in place. She had never imagined that this man would fall into the water just to save her.
“Sir, we have a private lounge where you can freshen up. Let me fetch a change of clothes for you,” the manager said hurriedly, rushing over.
“I… I…”
Min Xiaoya opened her mouth to speak, but the words wouldn’t come.
She was truly in shock.
“Alright.”
Without another glance at her, Wang Yun walked past, following the manager, leaving behind a guilt-ridden Xiaoya, who looked like she was on the verge of tears.
The lounge had its own bathroom.
Wang Yun took a quick shower and changed into a clean set of long-sleeved shirt and trousers prepared by the staff. They were simple but new. They were work uniforms, but freshly laundered ones.
“I’m terribly sorry, sir. These are the only clothes we have available. Your suit has already been sent to the dry cleaners and will be returned to you within two hours,” the manager said nervously. “In the meantime, we kindly ask for your understanding. To make up for the inconvenience, we’ll waive all charges from today’s visit and offer you a complimentary membership card. Next time you visit, you’ll enjoy a fifty-percent discount.”
The manager had been waiting in the room the entire time, visibly tense.
Though he didn’t personally know Wang Yun and had assumed he was just a new customer, the moment he saw the luxury brand tags on Wang Yun’s soaked clothes, he realized this was no ordinary man.
He immediately sent someone to investigate.
And sure enough, Wang Yun had been personally invited by Mr. Min.
That made him someone absolutely not to be offended.
After all, anyone who could meet with Min Zhengguo had to be a dragon among men.
Wang Yun simply waved him off.
Seeing the nervous expression on the manager’s face, he didn’t feel any irritation. He hadn’t needed to fall in the water; he’d done so deliberately, all part of the setup.
“It’s fine. Take me back to the private room. They’ve arrived by now, haven’t they?”
He casually rubbed his damp hair with a towel, not even bothering to blow it dry. This was exactly how he intended to show up.
“Yes, yes, right this way.”
The manager dared not say more and quickly took the lead, guiding him with utmost courtesy.

Inside the private room, Min Zhengguo was looking fondly at his granddaughter. Just as Wang Yun had guessed, she was none other than Min Xiaoya.
“Alright, alright. As long as you’re not hurt. What’s there to worry about a man falling in the water? Call it a cold shower. Xiao Fu, go find that man in a bit and thank him in person.”
Min Zhengguo patted Xiaoya’s shoulder as he spoke, his tone casual.
Min Xiaoya kept her head down, shoulders trembling slightly. When she finally looked up again, her face was filled with guilt and remorse.
“But Grandpa… if it wasn’t for me, he never would’ve fallen in. He only fell because he was trying to save me… and I even scolded him earlier. It was my fault! If I’d known, I never would’ve wandered over there.”
She had only returned from abroad two days ago.
Feeling bored at home, she had asked to tag along with her grandfather to get a glimpse of society.
Naturally, Min Zhengguo doted on his granddaughter. Whatever she asked for, he rarely refused.
He hadn’t expected such a farce to unfold today.
“Hmph. Being able to save my granddaughter? That’s a stroke of luck for him. Falling into the water on your behalf might just be a turning point in his life. You’ve given him a chance to rise to the top.”
With that, Min Zhengguo glanced at Xiao Fu.
Xiao Fu immediately stood. “Yes, sir. Miss., I’ll go find him now.”
“And give him my business card when you do.”
That final line made Min Xiaoya look up at her grandfather in surprise.
She knew better than anyone how high her grandfather stood. Being granted his business card was practically a golden pass. It meant immunity, protection, opportunity.
Compared to falling into a pond, that card was worth far more.
With that thought, some of the worry faded from her face.
“Understood, sir.”
Xiao Fu was just about to leave when the door opened.
Wang Yun stepped inside.
As soon as he looked up, he recognized a familiar face. Xiao Fu, the same man who had once come to invite him to this very meeting and whom Wang Yun had turned away.
“Mr. Wang, you’re late.”
Xiao Fu frowned the moment he saw Wang Yun.
He’d already been annoyed that someone would dare arrive ten minutes late to a meeting with his master. And to make matters worse, this was how he showed up? Dripping wet hair. Cheap, mismatched clothes.
Anyone who saw him might think he’d just stepped out of a bathhouse.
Hearing Xiao Fu’s comment, Min Zhengguo turned toward the door.
When his gaze landed on Wang Yun, his expression instantly darkened. If he hadn’t still been comforting his granddaughter, he’d have stormed out right then.
This was the first time in years someone had made him wait.
“Well now, you’re all right on time, aren’t you?” Wang Yun said with a relaxed smile, ignoring Xiao Fu entirely and looking straight at Min Zhengguo.
From the corner of his eye, he caught sight of Xiaoya and offered a small smile.
“Mr. Wang, you’ve truly let me down. Such a poor sense of punctuality, I clearly overestimated you. And just look at the way you’re dressed. Xiaoya, we’re leaving.”
At that moment, Min Zhengguo didn’t even bother sparing Wang Yun a shred of courtesy.
