Chapter 467: Visiting Bingbing’s Home, Solving Her Problem!
by tinytreeThe once relaxed atmosphere suddenly grew tense again.
Min Zhengguo stared intently at Wang Yun.
Wang Yun, however, kept his gaze fixed on the cup of tea before him.
No one knew what he was thinking.
“You said it yourself, I’m still young,” Wang Yun finally said after a long pause. “I have another round of filming next month. Let’s talk again after the show ends.”
He hadn’t accepted the offer, but he hadn’t outright refused it either.
“Good!” Min Zhengguo’s face broke into a smile the moment he heard that.
As long as Wang Yun wasn’t firmly opposed, there was still room to maneuver. There was still hope.
With the serious business out of the way, they chatted casually for a while.
Wang Yun wasn’t impolite. He answered whatever questions Min Zhengguo asked. The older man didn’t pry too much into his family affairs either.
“You and Xiaoya are about the same age; you two must have a lot to talk about. If there’s anything you’d rather not say to an old man like me, just pass it along through her. You’ve still got two weeks before filming resumes, and Xiaoya isn’t too busy lately. You two should meet up more, talk a little, get to know each other better.”
As he left, Min Zhengguo offered those words with a meaningful look.
In just one short hour, Wang Yun had completely changed his impression.
His composure, his speech, his conduct—all of it pointed to a man with limitless potential.
And he’d saved his granddaughter too.
Any previous displeasure had vanished without a trace. Now, he saw Wang Yun as family, as a promising junior worth grooming.
Wang Yun’s own impression of Min Zhengguo had improved as well.
“Alright,” Wang Yun said with a smile. “My girlfriend is about the same age as Xiaoya. I’ll introduce you sometime, I think they’d get along great.”
As soon as he said that, the change was visible to the naked eye.
The light in Min Xiaoya’s eyes went out in an instant. Even Min Zhengguo’s expression flickered with surprise, but it quickly vanished.
“Good, good,” he said with a casual wave. “You young people do your thing.”
But he couldn’t help glancing at his granddaughter, whose expression had completely slipped.
They exchanged a few more pleasantries, and then the group parted ways.
As they were leaving, Min Zhengguo asked Xiao Fu to bring out two boxes of premium tea for Wang Yun to take with him.
“Just something for you to try,” he said.
Wang Yun didn’t refuse. After all, they were likely to see each other again, and favors like this could always be repaid.
After leaving the teahouse, he headed home to change, then drove to pick up Xiao Yanran from her company.
The two of them went straight to Bingbing’s place. Conveniently, those two boxes of tea from Min Zhengguo made for the perfect host gift.
Borrowing flowers to offer to the Buddha.
“Are these two boxes of tea really enough?” Xiao Yanran said nervously as they stepped into the elevator. “I mean, Bingbing is a huge celebrity. It’s our first time visiting her home… doesn’t this feel a little cheap?”
She was holding a handmade gift in her hands. It was a small stuffed bear she’d been working on for over three months.
She and Xiaoxiao had discussed it earlier. Bingbing had everything money could buy, so something handmade might feel more sincere.
Wang Yun gently ran his fingers through her hair, then pulled her into his arms.
“Don’t forget, we’re here to solve her problem. Even if we don’t bring her anything, she’ll probably end up giving us gifts when we leave. So technically, we’d be the ones walking away with both food and presents.”
Xiao Yanran looked up at him, wide-eyed and innocent.
She knew he was helping Bingbing with something today, but she had no idea what, and they both spoke in riddles whenever it came up.
Still, she didn’t press for answers.
“Wanna bet?” Wang Yun said playfully. “She’s totally going to give you a bunch of stuff before we leave.”
Xiao Yanran shook her head firmly. “Even if she does, I’m not taking it.”
“Aiya, by then it won’t be a matter of whether you want to or not. You won’t be able to say no to her enthusiasm.”
Ding!
The elevator doors slid open.
Just as the two of them stepped out, the door in front of them swung open with a click.
Bingbing stood there in cozy loungewear.
“What a coincidence,” she said, beaming. “I was just heading to the door to pour myself a glass of water and heard something outside. Then I opened the door and—bam! There you were. Come on in. I’ve already made dinner.”
She was all smiles as she reached out and pulled Xiao Yanran into the apartment.
Xiao Yanran looked completely caught off guard.
“Sister Bingbing, I didn’t know what to bring for our first visit, so I made this little bear. I hope you don’t mind.”
As soon as she stepped in and slipped off her shoes, she handed over the gift.
“Oh my! What an adorable bear. Yanran, your craftsmanship is amazing. I love it.”
Bingbing turned the bear over in her hands, examining it from every angle, her face glowing with delight.
She genuinely seemed to like it.
Wang Yun smiled, watching Xiao Yanran’s expression light up. He couldn’t bring himself to spoil the moment.
But Bingbing was an actress.
“Sister Bingbing, here’s some tea for you,” he said, handing over the two boxes before she could overdo the performance.
He didn’t know much about tea, but if it came from Min Zhengguo, it had to be good.
“Oh my, you two are too thoughtful! How did you know I love tea? At my age, I’m all about health these days. Wait—is this…?! Top-grade Maojian?!”
