Four young men stood under the blazing sun, each holding a thick wad of cash, flaunting it like a badge of honor.

In front of them stood a lone young man, casually holding a bank card in one hand, a roguish smile playing on his lips.

Only the same aunt who had tugged at Old Hu earlier walked up to smooth things over, laughing awkwardly.

The aunt stepped forward warmly and subtly shielded the stacks of cash with her hand. Then she shot a glance at Old Hu, hinting that he should get his friend to accept a token amount and move on.

Old Hu picked up on her intent and gave a polite smile, but made no move to intervene.

Wang Yun understood too. But if he backed down now, wouldn’t that just reinforce their assumption? That Xiao Gang’s city friends were all flash and no substance?

“Alright, sure. Let’s swap it for cash, then,” Wang Yun said coolly.

Xiao Long and the others stepped forward, preparing to count the money again.

“There’s not a whole lot on this card. Just annoying to withdraw all of it at once,” Wang Yun added casually. Then he pulled out his phone and opened the bank app.

The transfer record was already up on screen.

“Just so you don’t accuse me of bluffing, here’s the transfer log. It’s got the card number too. Two million. There’s just two million on this card. You guys can swap it for cash, I’ll transfer it right now.”

He held up the phone, letting them all take a good look.

“Two million? Alright guys, let’s pool together—wait, what? Two… two million?!”

Xiao Long, who had been halfway through his sentence, froze mid-step. The hand holding his cash trembled so hard he nearly dropped it.

“Hahahaha! You’re killing me! Two million?! Hahahaha!”

The very next second, Xiao Long burst into hysterical laughter.

The others who had been momentarily stunned now joined in, all laughing uproariously.

Even the older uncles and aunties gathered around to watch the spectacle snorted and shook their heads.

Some even spat out melon seed husks in disdain.

He thrust the phone straight into Xiao Long’s face.

On the phone screen, a bright green “Transfer Successful” message was clearly visible.

As Xiao Long stared, the smile slowly drained from his face. He grabbed the bank card on the table and compared the numbers. When he saw that the last four digits matched the card in the record, his expression froze.

“Xiao Long, you’ve never seen that much money in your life. Better count it carefully!” one of his buddies teased, still clueless.

“What’s wrong? You did go to primary school, right? At least enough to read numbers?” he said.

Xiao Long’s body jolted, snapping back to reality. He glared at Wang Yun, eyes burning with resentment.

“W-what are you trying to pull, man? Nobody’s that desperate for face, did you Photoshop that?!”
