    Chapter Index

The moment Ying Yuezi appeared on the street, countless viewers watching the stream lit up with excitement. She was the first contestant to stroll openly and confidently down the street.

“Where’s Ying Yuezi going? It feels like she’s looking for someone!”

“You’re right. She’s striding forward with her head high, but she keeps turning it slightly, scanning her surroundings!”

“I get it now. She must be searching for a fugitive to form an alliance!”

Speculation ran wild in her livestream chat.

Unlike other partnerships, this one had viewers genuinely on edge because Ying Yuezi wasn’t just anyone. She used to be the Captain.

Now, the former enforcer was attempting to team up with fugitives? The sheer visual impact of that was staggering.

With her sudden appearance, the viewer count in her stream surged wildly.

    It was 1:00 PM.

Pedestrian traffic on the street was steadily increasing.

Office workers in business attire bustled about. This was lunchtime. Locals typically didn’t eat heavy meals at noon. A simple sandwich or a cup of coffee was enough. After all, they got off work early, and dinner was the main event.

    “Hm?”

As Ying Yuezi walked on, a sudden movement caught her eye—several figures emerged from the crowd.

She gave a faint “Hm?” in confusion, which prompted the livestream audience to look more closely.

The people approaching her were members of the Hahabaye Tribe.

They weren’t wearing outlandish outfits. That would’ve drawn too much attention. Instead, they’d adapted, dressing like ordinary locals. But their skin was too dark. Even with masks and hats covering most of their faces, leaving only their foreheads exposed, they still stood out immediately.

And yet, Ying Yuezi didn’t turn and flee.

    She didn’t have the chance.

The distance between her and them was less than ten meters.

Worse, they had already locked eyes on her.

    She was too conspicuous.

Her outfit was too flashy, too bold, and made her impossible to ignore.

In the next moment, the group started walking straight toward her.

“Oh no! Did they spot her?!”

“Run, sis! You can’t get caught now!”

“You’ve gotta be kidding me. The former program Captain, and she’s about to get caught before even two full days have passed?”

“Please, please let her get away! My heart is pounding out of my chest!”

“She’s my goddess! If she gets eliminated, I’m done with this show!”

    “Then don’t watch, dumbass!”

Tension exploded across the livestream chat. Everyone clutched their phones tighter, eyes locked on their screens.

    Eight meters.

    Three meters.

    One meter.

Four members of the Hahabaye Tribe walked directly up to her.

Their eyes were locked on Ying Yuezi. But she didn’t flinch. She kept her gaze forward, unwavering. The four men came to a stop right in front of her.

Ying Yuezi lifted her head and removed her sunglasses. Her dark eyes stared directly into the man in front of her.

She saw it in them—coldness. Lethality.

The chat froze. No comments. No noise. Everyone was holding their breath.

    Then—

    “Excuse me.”

Just as the audience braced for disaster…

Ying Yuezi calmly uttered two words.

    “Excuse me.”

In the local language, no less.

Her face expressionless, even tinged with faint confusion and curiosity. And then the impossible happened.

The man stepped aside without resistance, without suspicion.

Ying Yuezi passed right through them and kept walking.

She made it. They hadn’t noticed her.

    “Holy Shit!”

As her silhouette faded from the tribe’s line of sight, the livestream erupted. Exclamation marks flooded the screen.

    “What composure!”

    “What nerves of steel!”

It was like a mouse walking right up to a group of cats and saying, “Get out of my way.”

And the cats actually did. And not just any cats, but four hulking, musclebound cats.

    It was incredible.

    “Goddess! She’s a damn goddess!”

“She’s basically the female version of Wang Yun. I said it!”

Screams filled the stream. But just as the excitement reached a peak, Ying Yuezi suddenly stopped walking. She glanced sideways. Then quickened her pace. She darted toward a nearby alley.

Her sudden urgency sent another ripple of anxiety through the viewers.

Had the Program Inspectors caught sight of her after all?

But that couldn’t be; the cameras hadn’t shown anyone behind her. Ying Yuezi hadn’t even looked back.

The livestream camera was tracking her head movements, but hadn’t once turned to show what was behind her.

    Tap. Tap. Tap.

Her heels rang out sharply on the pavement.

This alley was the city’s only temporary waste collection site.

Local restaurants dumped their trash here, and garbage trucks came at night to haul it away.

As Ying Yuezi stepped into the alley, the viewers were hit with the visual filth—garbage strewn across the ground, grime smeared along the walls. Even through their screens, many instinctively covered their noses.

    Ying Yuezi moved faster.

    The alley was deep. Empty.

At the far end, she turned a corner and suddenly broke into a full sprint. Without hesitation, she kicked off her high heels, shoved them into her bag, and ran barefoot.

The abrupt shift made every viewer gasp aloud.
