Chapter 525: A Terrifying Sense of Spatial Awareness
by tinytreeYing Yuezi didn’t make a fuss.
It was still better than being out on the street with nowhere to stay. She walked straight into the room, showing no disdain for the slightly yellowed sheets on the bed.
Her composure caught Wang Yun a bit off guard; she was handling things much better than he’d expected.
“When the others wake up, I’ll call you to eat.”
With that, Wang Yun shut the door.
The viewers in the livestream instantly exploded. It was now crystal clear that the two had officially formed an alliance.
“Big Brother, no! You can’t let this woman in, get her out of there!”
“Come on, don’t assume our Big Brother is that naïve. Maybe he knows she’s got ulterior motives!”
“Knows what? He doesn’t have a clone watching the stream, and no matter how smart he is, he’s still got a human brain, not a computer!”
“All I can do now is pray Ying Yuezi has a conscience and won’t end up selling Big Brother out!”
“Haha, honestly this just got way more fun. I can’t wait to see her try to set him up and totally fail!”
Truth be told, Ying Yuezi’s joining the team had once again doubled the livestream’s viewership.
Just a month ago, the two had been sworn enemies. Now, one of them was living in a room the other had arranged.
It felt like a bizarre dream crossover no one saw coming.
After returning to his room, Wang Yun immediately pulled out pen and paper and began reconstructing the streets they’d explored that day. He didn’t draw out every detail. Instead, he used his own familiar symbols to abstract and summarize the layout.
Viewers in the livestream got a firsthand glimpse of Lidao City in real form.
It was like Wang Yun was taking them on a virtual guided tour.
“There are several areas laid out just like this inn. There’s a park, and right behind it, there is a residential complex only separated by a wall.
“There’s a garbage station, and behind it is a restaurant. Walk two hundred meters out the back door of the restaurant, and you’re in the wide-open trash lot.
“Beyond the garbage lot is a huge stretch of undeveloped coast, with only an iron fence in between.
“If you follow that coastal stretch straight down, you’ll arrive at the back entrance of the Sero Market. Cross through that, and you reach the southern part of the city center.
“From there, go further and you’ll reach the Fashion District. Next to that is a high-end shopping mall, and beside the mall is CDP Plaza. Right next to that is the stadium.”
A complete connected route formed in Wang Yun’s mind, something only he could piece together.
As he mumbled to himself and drew each connection out, the chat began to buzz with realization.
“Wait a second… didn’t Big Brother not go to some of these places today?”
“Did he memorize all this off a map?”
Some sharp-eyed, clever viewers realized that Wang Yun had been to all these places! They were part of the route he’d taken ever since getting off the plane.
The most impressive part was that he’d visited them in fragmented, scattered pieces.
For example—
On day one, after they landed, they headed straight north to the coast to catch seafood. The next morning, they went northwest to sell it at the Sero Market. Then they came to this East District inn, the one that’s a total front.
That afternoon, he and Xiao Gang headed south to buy materials for crafting human-skin masks. On the way, they stumbled into the whole “angel rain” money drop, wandered into a residential neighborhood, and casually eliminated a Program Inspector.
After that, they ended up at that restaurant, helped the boss with his trouble, ate, drank, passed out, and when Wang Yun went out for a walk at midnight, he ran into Ying Yuezi.
And finally, here they were now.
The entire route Wang Yun had walked was exactly what he was now sketching on paper.
“Holy crap! I’m stunned! Big Brother’s spatial sense is insane! One of those segments he walked on day two, but now he’s linking it perfectly to the part from day one!”
“I get it now! He drew the beginning and end first, then a full day later filled in the middle. And the middle connects flawlessly with both ends!”
“And he’s not even drawing a flat map. It’s a 3D spatial diagram! And somehow it all connects with perfect accuracy!”
“Yeah, it’s like a jigsaw puzzle. He nailed the borders first, left the hard part for later, then came back and fit it all in to complete the picture!”
“Unreal. Big Bro’s just unreal!”
“I seriously have to hand it to him. He now has an incredibly detailed 3D mental map of Lidao in his head. He wasn’t involved in building the city, so how did he manage to understand it so thoroughly after just three days of walking around?”
As Wang Yun’s map gradually took shape on screen, the chat collectively got chills.
This wasn’t something a normal person could do. Even the so-called “Memory Kings” on The Brain would struggle to fully internalize the layout of an entire city in just three days. And not only memorize it, but be randomly taken through it in broken segments, then still reconstruct the full map without a single error.
Every road was connected. Every shop was correctly placed.
It was a truly terrifying level of spatial awareness.
