Chapter 319: After the Show, How Many Will Compete for Him!
by tinytreeWhen someone in the livestream said it, others quickly latched onto the sentiment. This was the power of momentum.
“Yeah, Big Brother is incredible! This isn’t just survival. This is educational!”
“The first person to use their life to educate us! Big Brother is amazing!”
“Who else has the guts that Big Brother does? This is insane! Does the meteorological bureau have any updates on when the earthquake will end?”
Everyone began focusing on the question of when the earthquake would finally stop. Some compassionate individuals silently prayed for the natural disaster to end as soon as possible.
At the harbor, everyone had gathered in the parking lot, where the support team had brought raincoats and tents.
Though it was pouring rain, the temperature remained high. Despite being soaked, no one felt particularly uncomfortable or cold. For children, the adults shared extra clothing to keep them warm.
At this moment, everyone was united.
With the arrival of raincoats, tents, and supplies, the program inspectors stepped in to help.
Being a group of burly men, they were quite adept at assembling tents, quickly setting them up. Each tent housed five people due to the large crowd.
“I wonder if Wang Yun and his group have a tent right now,” someone muttered, causing an uproar.
“Yeah, they warned us about the earthquake at great personal risk, and now they’re stuck at the epicenter!”
“If you ask me, the program should be paused during an earthquake so Wang Yun and his team can come here to take shelter!”
“I heard Wang Yun chose not to leave. He probably thinks the earthquake isn’t too dangerous.”
“That makes sense. He predicted the earthquake, so he must know how intense it will be.”
“Come on, did you see the island? It’s practically submerged!”
The crowd began debating. They could vaguely see the massive island in the distance from their position in the parking lot.
The heavy rain and wind made it difficult to see clearly, but the rising seawater seemed to engulf the island. It almost looked like the island was sinking.
In one of the tents, Zhao Youcheng, Wu Yaoming, Wu Mingyu, Ying Yuezi, and Qian Guosen sat together, eating the bread and water provided by the program. Everyone else was visibly tired after hours of activity, silently eating their food. Only Zhao Youcheng looked worried.
Noticing that Zhao had only taken a single bite of his bread, Qian Guosen patted his shoulder.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Zhao. That kid will be fine. If he could predict the earthquake, he surely knows its magnitude and how to stay safe. And no news from the director means good news,” Qian said.
Zhao Youcheng nodded. “I understand. I’m not worried about his safety.”
“Then what are you worried about?” Qian asked, puzzled.
“Sigh, the kid is just too outstanding. I’m thinking about how to recruit him once the show ends.”
Cough, cough!
Wu Yaoming suddenly choked on his water, coughing violently. Wu Mingyu’s expression turned strangely complex, and Ying Yuezi could only smile wryly.
Qian Guosen’s words of comfort got stuck in his throat.
So this was what Zhao Youcheng was worried about?
“Uh… with your current reputation and position, I’m sure the kid will know what’s best,” Qian Guosen finally managed to say after a pause.
“Know what’s best? He knows too much! He predicted an earthquake, helped the police dismantle a criminal gang. How many competitors do you think I’ll have?”
Zhao Youcheng disagreed, his tone growing agitated.
“I’ll say this, whether or not we capture Wang Yun, his current performance will have every organization in the country and even the world fighting over him. I can maybe compete with some of the domestic players, even throw around my reputation, but what about the international ones? Sigh!”
Shaking his head slowly, Zhao Youcheng looked defeated.
Wang Yun’s brilliance was like a star hanging in the sky—reaching it seemed impossible.
The others in the tent exchanged glances, stunned by Zhao Youcheng’s remarks.
Did he forget they were on a show? Everything he was saying was being broadcast live.
Wasn’t this just boosting Wang Yun’s image while undermining themselves?
Though they thought it, none dared to voice it.
After all, Zhao Youcheng wasn’t wrong. Wang Yun’s skills had already outshone them completely.

At the same time, Zhao Youcheng’s words were being validated at the meteorological bureau.
“Call the program team and ask Wang Yun how much longer the earthquake will last,” said Sun Zhidong, the bureau director, his tone anxious.
The staff immediately made the call while an assistant stared intently at the flickering data on the screen.
“It’s here! Director, we finally have the earthquake’s data!”
The screen displayed a large patch of red, with adjacent sections showing trajectory and magnitude.
“7.1 magnitude! Director, the earthquake is at 7.1!”
“Tell Wang Yun to evacuate immediately! Predictions show it will escalate to 7.3, and the entire island will collapse. If they don’t leave now, it’s over!” the staff shouted anxiously, their faces flushed with urgency.
