“Take it one step at a time. If you see anything edible along the way, collect it,” Wang Yun said to the two of them.

The two were still shaken from the earthquake, so they hadn’t felt hungry at first. But the moment their boss mentioned food, their stomachs immediately started growling.

“I looked around on the way here. The safest food options are some mushrooms. There are also some wild fruits, but we don’t know if they’re poisonous. As for water, there’s a small stream in the middle of the mountain.”

Xiao Gang had carefully observed their surroundings while coming up.

Brother Hu, on the other hand, was surprised.

He used his enhanced vision to scout the terrain. He found that the mountain they were on had a gap separating it from the next one.

With his current eyesight, he could only make out a narrow crevice.

But if they walked closer, it was likely a ravine—possibly even a cliff.

If they could successfully cross that gap, the program inspectors probably wouldn’t dare follow.

By their logic, there was no way Wang Yun and his team would jump off a cliff without any safety measures.

“Hopefully, it’s just a small gap,” Wang Yun muttered under his breath.

“Boss, what did you say?” Brother Hu, who was nearby, overheard Wang Yun muttering and leaned in to ask.

“Nothing, let’s keep moving.”

Wang Yun brushed it off casually. He couldn’t exactly say that there might be a cliff ahead that even he wasn’t sure about. That would probably scare brother Hu to death.

What seemed like a short distance ended up taking them a full hour to cover.

And that was without taking any breaks.
