Chapter 371: The Producer Didn’t Say a Word!
by tinytreeXiao Qiao’s words deeply shaken Wang Yun.
The woman standing before him—probably only twenty-six or twenty-seven years old—had the sharp intuition of an eagle.
Her words were spot on. She had figured out exactly what was on his mind.
It was true—he was worried about Xiao Gang and Brother Hu. And he hadn’t forgotten about the program inspectors chasing him either.
If he was right, those guys should be waking up soon.
And once they did, they’d definitely notice the fire.
Based on their captain’s thinking, they’d probably assume that the fire had something to do with the three fugitives. Even though it wasn’t their fault, the inspectors would definitely come up the mountain to investigate.
And once they found any traces of them, it’d be only a matter of time before they made their way straight to the top.
The more Wang Yun thought about it, the more anxious he became—but he couldn’t show it.
Right now, his top priority was leaving these people behind and focusing on his own escape.
He chuckled.
Xiao Qiao’s expression tensed slightly.
She knew Wang Yun well.
He seemed calm and easygoing on the surface, but in reality, he was a time bomb—you never knew when he might explode.
And this man was capable of anything.
“Uh… Big Brother, don’t take it seriously, I was just making a guess,” Xiao Qiao said nervously.
She wasn’t that close to Wang Yun—saying something like that on camera, in front of millions, was a bit too bold. It felt disrespectful.
But Wang Yun just smiled—he wasn’t offended at all.
More importantly—he didn’t deny it.
“If you understand that much, then why not let me leave already?” he said casually, glancing at the six of them.
His gaze lingered on Xiao Qiao and her boyfriend.
“You got lucky this time, you ran into me. But don’t do something this reckless again. Just stay here and wait for the firefighters. I’m fine, I need to go now.”
Without waiting for a response, Wang Yun turned around and walked off.
His movements looked ridiculous, but despite that, he was surprisingly fast.
Xiao Qiao instinctively wanted to stop him, but her boyfriend gently pulled her back.
“Big Brother has his own plans, we shouldn’t interfere,” he said. “Life is more important than money. Big Brother knows that.”
Xiao Qiao looked at Wang Yun’s retreating figure, then sighed and nodded helplessly.
Not long after Wang Yun left, Li Long and his team arrived.
Throughout the whole time, Li Long kept trying to persuade Wang Yun to stay through his headset. They had professional doctors with them, they could help treat his wounds.
But Wang Yun refused everything.
“Don’t worry, Captain Li,” he said with a light chuckle. “The producer knows how terrible my physical condition is, right? You’re not worried, are you, Producer?”
As he spoke, he silently activated his system, letting it use his shock points to heal him.
His legs were already starting to scab over.
If he wanted, he could heal them completely right now. But he couldn’t let that happen too quickly—after all, millions of people had seen him get injured.
If he just stood up fully healed, he wouldn’t just shock the nation. He’d shock the whole damn world.
So, he decided to recover halfway instead.
The left foot was already mostly fine. He just needed a bit more time to make it look natural.
“Producer?”
Wang Yun had just called out to the Producer, but…
No response.
That was odd—the executive producer always replied immediately. This had never happened before.
“Did I go too far earlier? Did I crash the platform again and get him in trouble?”
Seeing the silence, Wang Yun laughed to himself.
Li Long also thought the same thing.
“Probably,” he replied. “I was just discussing your condition with him earlier. Let’s keep the line open for now. Don’t stray too far from us,” Li Long added seriously. “If anything happens, I’ll find you immediately.”
Wang Yun shrugged. “Alright.”
He didn’t mind their concern.
They were just looking out for him, and if something really went wrong, it would affect a lot of people.
He owed them at least that much.
Three hours ago, Wang Yun had climbed down the mountain.
Now, he was making his way back up.
For the past three hours, Xiao Gang and Brother Hu were probably freaking out.
Meanwhile, in the livestream, public opinion was all over the place.
At first, everyone was terrified that Wang Yun’s final burst of energy would run out. But now, twenty minutes had passed, and not only was he fine. He even started humming a song.
That left the audience both relieved and confused.
They were worried that if he let his guard down, he might collapse and never wake up.
At the same time, some people were furious.
He had refused a medical checkup.
He had left the rescue team behind.
And he was still thinking about his teammates.
To many fans, this was reckless and irresponsible.
The show was almost at the end of the season, so why was he still worrying about the game and the money?
Right now, the only thing that mattered was getting treatment.
But Wang Yun acted like none of this concerned him at all.
“Hah… this mountain road is kinda tough to climb,” he muttered, making his way up.
Just then, a sharp static noise came from his earpiece.
And finally, the Producer spoke.
