Chapter 376: A Roadside Celebration!
by tinytreeIt wasn’t just Wu Yaoming who felt his face burn with embarrassment. Even Hardy, Qian Guosen, and Zhao Youcheng felt ashamed deep in their hearts.
Because while Wang Yun was risking his life to save six people, they had been on the neighboring mountain, sleeping peacefully.
The fugitive they were supposed to be chasing had just proven himself to be a true hero.
Compared to him, their own actions felt insignificant.
Li Long seemed to expect their reaction. A knowing look flashed in his eyes.
“Comrade Wang Yun is truly a rare individual. There’s a reason you haven’t been able to catch him.”
After saying that, Li Long turned and left.
His words made the four of them want to bury their heads in shame. Even Zhao Youcheng couldn’t help but feel deeply embarrassed.
The four of them stood frozen in place, watching as the fire trucks drove away. Only when the last vehicle disappeared did they finally breathe a sigh of relief.
When Alfa called them over for food, the four of them barely had an appetite.

At the same time, Wang Yun and his teammates were descending the mountain.
But before they could reach the bottom, when they were still 800 meters from the road, they all noticed something at the same time. Smoke rising in the distance.
“Boss, this… this feels like a trap, doesn’t it?”
While Brother Hu and Xiao Gang were waiting for Wang Yun at the top of the mountain, they suddenly received a message from the executive producer.
The producer told them Wang Yun’s location, so they rushed to find him immediately.
But strangely enough, the producer never mentioned that the show was being suspended. Instead, he simply told them to follow Wang Yun’s lead.
The two of them were confused, but they knew one thing. The show crew had never interfered in their escape before.
So why now?
It felt like something was off.
Still, they put their doubts aside and ran as fast as they could to find Wang Yun.
The moment they saw him alive, both of them cried tears of joy.
Through their conversation, Wang Yun realized that they didn’t know what was happening behind the scenes. So he chose not to explain.
Instead, he simply said, “Follow me. We’re heading down the mountain.”
So when Brother Hu and Xiao Gang finally reached the base of the mountain, they suddenly stopped in their tracks.
A strange tension filled the air.
“Boss, are you seriously taking us down the mountain? Could it be that you’ve had a change of heart and are planning to turn yourself in?” Brother Hu turned to Wang Yun, a teasing grin on his face.
But Wang Yun only smiled, choosing not to respond.
Instead, Xiao Gang rolled his eyes.
“Come on, Boss must have thought of a new plan while saving people. Boss, don’t keep us in suspense, tell us the plan!” Xiao Gang’s eyes lit up with excitement.
In his mind, Wang Yun always had a strategy.
If he was leading them down the mountain, it meant he had a new scheme for dealing with their pursuers.
But to their shock, Wang Yun shook his head.
“You’re both wrong.”
He then turned his gaze toward the program inspectors gathered in the distance.
There, on the road below, the program inspectors had actually started a picnic.
It was understandable. After all, there had been an earthquake yesterday, and the road was still closed. With so many people stranded, they had to eat somewhere.
It had turned into a massive outdoor cookout.
But they also seemed confident.
So confident that they weren’t even considering the possibility that Wang Yun and his team would dare come down the mountain.
If this had been earlier in the show, before the producer suspended the recording, Wang Yun wouldn’t have let this slide. He would’ve found a way to cause absolute chaos. But this time, something flashed in his eyes—a different kind of determination.
Brother Hu saw the look on Wang Yun’s face and rubbed his hands together excitedly.
But before he could say anything, Wang Yun spoke, and his words completely shocked them.
“We’re going to go around them. Make sure they don’t see us.”
Huh?!
Go around them?!
Avoid them?!
“What?! Boss!” Brother Hu yelled in shock, but quickly covered his mouth, worried that the people below might hear.
“Yeah… going around them makes it pretty hard for them to catch us.”
Wang Yun ignored their reactions and simply started walking in the opposite direction.
Brother Hu stared in confusion.
“Wait, does this mean… our escape plan has changed? Are we not using the cliff escape method anymore?”
Xiao Gang slapped Brother Hu on the arm, the sound crisp and clear.
“Seriously? You’ve been asking way too many questions lately. Just follow the Boss. With your brain, do you really think you can come up with a better plan? You want to be the Boss instead?”
Xiao Gang followed after Wang Yun without hesitation.
His blind trust in Wang Yun made the viewers in the livestream chat admire him even more.
Meanwhile, Brotther Hu’s behavior reminded them of “Fatty Wang” from all those treasure-hunting novels. Funny, chaotic, and somehow always lovable.

While the program inspectors were feasting,
A loud rumbling echoed from down the road. A dozen black cars appeared in the distance, speeding toward them.
The sound was so loud that everyone froze mid-bite.
“Old Zhao, what’s going on? I thought this road was blocked off, why are there cars coming?” Wu Mingyu, who had been resting his injured leg, got up in surprise.
After a full night’s rest, his body was feeling better, and he hurried over to investigate.
Meanwhile, Zhao Youcheng was still holding his bowl of food. His head lowered, chopsticks still in his hand. He looked just like a farmer who had just come in from the fields. But as soon as he saw the approaching vehicles, his expression changed instantly.
“Call the relevant authorities.” He turned to Qian Guosen, his voice serious.
