Chapter 404: Visiting Director Zhou
by tinytreeAfter arriving at the mall, Wang Yun headed straight for the first floor where all the international luxury brands were located.
He found a jewelry store and walked right in.
Like most high-end boutiques, it was quiet and sparsely populated. The moment Wang Yun entered, three saleswomen hurried over—each dressed in sharp business attire.
“Hello, handsome! How can we help you today?
“Looking for something for your girlfriend? We just got in our latest collection!”
“Would you like something to drink? It’s hot outside. We have cold refreshments right over here!”
Their enthusiasm caught Wang Yun a little off guard.
There were two other women already browsing in the store. When they looked up and saw him, their eyes instantly lit up.
So handsome.
So handsome they couldn’t look away.
The athletic outfit he wore seemed perfectly tailored to his figure. His facial features—refined and sharp—made him look more like a celebrity than an actual celebrity.
All the attention made Wang Yun feel slightly embarrassed. He glanced around quickly.
“It’s for a friend. A woman, around forty years old. Something elegant and refined,” he said.
The moment he spoke, the atmosphere in the shop shifted.
Not only was he good-looking, but his voice was deep, smooth, and magnetic, making people want to listen forever.
And when he smiled, the way his brows arched, he was simply captivating.
“Right this way, sir!” one of the saleswomen said, leading him deeper into the store with renewed excitement.
She guided him to a private room in the back, which confused Wang Yun for a moment.
Just then, a slightly older woman approached, a name badge pinned to her chest. It read: Store Manager.
“Welcome, esteemed guest. This is our VIP suite. We have a few rare and exclusive pieces. Please, allow me to present them to you.”
She gestured for Wang Yun to take a seat on the plush sofa.
In front of him was a table laid out with a fruit platter and an assortment of gourmet nuts.
The women still outside browsing could only watch with envious eyes. He was both handsome and rich. The universe really has its favorites.
Wang Yun didn’t have much time. He asked the staff to show him all the options at once.
In the end, he selected a full-diamond necklace.
When it came time to pay, he swiped his card—¥800,000 gone in a flash. He didn’t even blink.
As Wang Yun stepped out of the store, the entire staff inside looked like they’d just been struck by lightning. Excitement burst into chatter the moment he left.
After buying the necklace for Director Zhou’s wife, Wang Yun made his way to a luxurious-looking wine shop.
He picked out two bottles of premium red wine—another ¥200,000 spent.
Then he bought a set of calligraphy pens for studying for the child—¥60,000. It was a well-known brand from overseas, supposedly favored by royalty.
By the time he finished shopping, an hour had already passed.
Director Zhou called again to ask when he’d arrive, but with traffic still heavy, the drive would take another hour; finally, an hour later, Wang Yun arrived at Director Zhou’s home, gifts in hand.
The house was a villa in the suburbs. It was spacious and elegant with a total area of over 500 square meters.
The moment Wang Yun laid eyes on it, he finally understood why Director Zhou had repeatedly apologized for his “small home.”
Compared to Wang Yun’s current residence, this place was small.
Director Zhou rushed over to answer as soon as he heard the doorbell, apron still tied around his waist.
The moment he saw Wang Yun, his eyes sparkled with joy.
“Hey, Honey, come out! Brother Wang is here.”
He truly hadn’t expected a person as legendary as Wang Yun to come to his house as a guest. Someone like him—he should’ve been untouched by the dust of the mundane world.
“Director Zhou, no need to be so formal. Just call me Wang Yun,” he said with a warm smile.
As soon as the door opened, the rich aroma of home-cooked food wafted out. The warmth inside the house hit immediately.
“Then call me Brother Zhou, don’t ‘Director Zhou’ me anymore. Come in, come in! You didn’t need to bring anything!”
He glanced at the bags in Wang Yun’s hands, eyes gleaming with recognition.
He was a man of the world. He knew those brands well. Especially the jewelry bag. Cartier. His wife loved that brand.
“Oh my, is that Teacher Wang?”
From the kitchen, Director Zhou’s wife emerged, voice filled with pleasant surprise.
Wang Yun looked up to see a tall, graceful woman walking toward him. Thick brows, bright eyes, a high nose bridge—her elegance was undeniable.
It seemed that the director’s taste in choosing a wife was anything but ordinary.
“Nice to meet you, Sister-in-law. I’m Wang Yun. Since this is our first meeting, I brought a few small gifts. I hope you’ll like them,” he said politely and handed over the bags.
Director Zhou’s wife hadn’t even opened them yet. Just seeing the brand logos on the packaging, her hand shot up to cover her mouth in shock.
“My goodness! This, this is too much! I can’t accept something so expensive! Oh no, and that’s the stationery Piggy always wanted, but this brand is far too extravagant!”
She was clearly overwhelmed, too flustered to even take a proper look at Wang Yun. She hadn’t even processed what he looked like. Her full attention was on the gifts.
Director Zhou casually stepped in and took the bags from her hands.
“Come on, don’t embarrass yourself like that. Did you forget? Teacher Wang is worth hundreds of millions now. If he told us today he wanted to be our neighbor, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised.”
