Chapter 829: The Condition Stabilized
by tinytreeAfter inserting the needle into the Dazhui acupoint, Wang Yun did not stop. Seizing the momentum, he picked up another silver needle, heated it briefly over the flame, and drove it into the Tianzong acupoint.
Then came Zhiyang, Quyuan, Yaoyangguan, Taodao, Jizhong, Shenzhu, Mingmen, Shendao, Jianjing, and Fengmen.
Twelve major acupoints in total.
By the time he finished inserting the needles, Wang Yun looked as if he had just been pulled out of water.
Sweat streamed down his face.
He simply wiped it away with the back of his hand. After inserting the needles, he needed to wait ten minutes before removing them.
Wang Yun slumped onto the floor and glanced at the time, silently beginning to count.
He looked over at Nicole.
The tight frown between her brows had already relaxed. The little girl was now sleeping peacefully.
Only then did Wang Yun finally loosen the tension in his chest.
Suddenly, the girl on the bed seemed to feel a chill. Her body trembled slightly, as if she were about to turn over.
The movement startled Wang Yun. He quickly reached out and gently held her arms to stop her from moving.
He checked the time again.
Five minutes had passed.
Wang Yun immediately pushed himself up using the edge of the bed. One by one, he carefully removed the silver needles, wrapped them, and placed them back into the wooden box.
Then he pulled the blanket up and covered the girl properly.
For now, the fire poison inside Nicole’s body had been temporarily suppressed by Wang Yun. There would be no immediate danger.
He touched her forehead again.
The heat had already faded.
Without the fire poison raging inside her body, the fever naturally subsided.
Nicole was now sleeping soundly.
Wang Yun dragged his slightly weakened body back to the other room.
Before he could speak, Hart hurried over and grabbed Wang Yun’s arm.
“Brother Wang Yun, is Nicole alright now?”
Wang Yun nodded. Then shook his head.
The motion immediately alarmed Hart.
“Brother Wang Yun, what do you mean by that?”
At that moment, Aviva brought over a glass of water.
“Sir, please let Mr. Wang Yun drink some water first.”
Her interruption made Hart notice the sweat covering Wang Yun’s face. He quickly helped Wang Yun to the sofa, apologetic.
“Brother Wang Yun, I’m sorry. I was just too anxious. What happened to you?”
Big Mouth also stared at Wang Yun’s sweat-drenched face, puzzled.
“Yeah, boss, what’s going on with you? You look like you just came out of a sauna.”
Wang Yun took the glass of water from Aviva, drank a sip, and slowly spoke.
“I’m fine. Acupuncture consumes a lot of physical energy. I’m just a little exhausted. I’ll recover after resting for a while. I’ve temporarily suppressed Nicole’s fever. But her body is still extremely weak. We still need to wait for the donor to arrive so the surgery can be performed as soon as possible.”
Hart nodded after hearing this and turned to instruct Aviva.
“Quick, go prepare some food for Brother Wang Yun.”
Wang Yun shook his head and looked at Aviva.
“There’s no rush for food. Let Big Mouth handle that. You should go change your young lady’s clothes first and make sure she doesn’t catch a chill.”
When Big Mouth heard his name, he immediately patted his chest and said confidently,
“Boss, don’t worry. Leave the cooking to me. I already know where all the ingredients in Hart’s house are kept.”
Wang Yun nodded, then thought of something and added,
“Don’t forget to cook a bowl of porridge for Nicole. She’s very weak right now, and there’s surgery later. If she doesn’t eat anything, I’m afraid she won’t be able to endure it.”
Big Mouth quickly agreed as he walked out.
At the same time, Aviva went to Nicole’s room.
Soon, only Wang Yun and Hart remained in the room, and the atmosphere grew quiet.
Hart looked at Wang Yun’s exhausted face, his heart filled with gratitude.
He looked at him sincerely.
“Brother Wang Yun, you’ve really worked hard for us—helping me find a solution and stabilizing Nicole’s condition. If you ever need anything in the future, just come to me. I’ll definitely do everything I can.”
Wang Yun calmly turned the camera back on, then shook his head.
“I didn’t save Nicole because I wanted something from you. I just like that girl. Besides, she calls me big brother, how could I just ignore her?”
Hart wanted to say something more, but Wang Yun waved his hand to stop him.
Hart sighed with emotion. This was the first time he had met someone like Wang Yun.
He had helped so much without asking for anything in return.
Looking at Wang Yun, Hart silently made up his mind that from now on, Wang Yun was truly his brother.
Hart glanced at Wang Yun’s tired face.
“Brother Wang Yun, lie down and rest for a while. When Big Mouth finishes preparing the food, I’ll have someone call you.”
Wang Yun nodded.
At this moment, he realized for the first time just how exhausting acupuncture could be. His arms and legs felt so weak they were almost like cotton.
Hart helped him lie down.
Suddenly Wang Yun remembered something.
“Oh right, Hart, if there’s any news about Yura, notify me immediately.”
Hart nodded seriously.
“Don’t worry, Brother Wang Yun. I understand.”
Wang Yun closed his eyes and quickly fell asleep.
At that moment, Aviva appeared at the doorway.
“Sir, I’ve helped the young lady change her clothes. Would you like to go see her now?”
Hart nodded and immediately strode toward Nicole’s room.
