Chapter 841: A Medical Genius in His Early Twenties!
by tinytreeSeeing her reaction, Wang Yun frowned slightly. Even Hart showed displeasure in his eyes.
He turned to Dorothea, he said, “Ms. Dorothea, are you unwilling to take care of my daughter?”
Only then did Dorothea realize how impolite she had just been. She quickly bowed in apology.
“I’m very sorry, Mr. Hart, Mr. Wang Yun. I was simply too shocked. Mr. Wang Yun is so young, yet he has already achieved so much. His future accomplishments will surely be limitless.”
A man barely in his early twenties had successfully completed such a difficult surgery, and without an experienced assistant doctor by his side. He had performed such a major operation with nothing more than the help of an ordinary person who knew nothing about medicine.
If news of this spread, the senior figures in the medical world would be utterly astonished.
Dorothea suddenly felt fortunate that she had come.
She looked at Wang Yun with clear anticipation in her eyes.
Wang Yun, however, paid no attention to the praise. He remained calm and composed as he addressed her.
“Ms. Dorothea, Nicole has just completed surgery. For the next forty-eight hours, she will need someone with her at all times. If anything unusual happens, you can contact me immediately. I’ll be resting in a room upstairs. Pay close attention to the patient’s temperature and the various indicators in her blood. Check her temperature every hour, and test her blood data every twelve hours.”
Wang Yun explained everything carefully, one instruction after another.
Dorothea noted each point. Although she was an attending physician, she was essentially performing a nurse’s duties at the moment, yet she did not feel wronged in the slightest.
On the contrary, she felt honored to be assisting Mr. Wang Yun.
Suddenly, Wang Yun seemed to remember something. He looked at Dorothea and spoke in a serious tone.
“As for the fact that I performed Nicole’s surgery, please do not mention it to anyone.”
Dorothea did not understand. With such extraordinary skill, keeping it hidden seemed like a waste of talent.
Still, that was his personal choice. She was about to say something more.
But Wang Yun gave her no chance.
“I’ll return to my room to rest now. I’ll leave the rest to you, Ms. Dorothea.”
Wang Yun walked straight toward the stairs and headed upstairs.
Big Mouth followed closely behind him. The two left one after the other.
Dorothea looked at Hart in confusion.
“Mr. Hart, this Mr. Wang Yun is quite an unusual person.”
Hart nodded and repeated firmly, “Just do as he instructed. He doesn’t wish to become famous, so please don’t tell anyone.”
Although Dorothea could not understand why Wang Yun insisted on this, keeping patients’ secrets was a basic professional ethic for a doctor.
The same applied to keeping a colleague’s secrets.
She nodded to show that she understood.
Satisfied, Hart went to change into sterile clothing and entered the operating room to see Nicole.
Dorothea also put on sterile clothing and followed him inside.
Hart came to Nicole’s bedside. Looking at his daughter lying on the hospital bed, his gratitude toward Wang Yun deepened even more. He knew that Wang Yun’s identity made it inappropriate to publicize what had happened, but he still wanted to express his thanks in a meaningful way.
As he looked at his daughter, he quietly considered how he might properly thank Wang Yun.
Nicole lay peacefully on the bed, sleeping soundly, as though everything that had happened had nothing to do with her.
After watching his daughter for a while and tucking the small blanket around her, Hart quietly left the room.
Now Dorothea was the only one left in the ward.
Unable to suppress her curiosity, she walked over to Nicole and was about to check the wound on her back.
Just then, Nicole woke up.
The anesthesia had not fully worn off yet, so she did not feel any pain. She only felt uncomfortable from lying face down for so long.
She tried to move slightly, but Dorothea immediately stopped her.
Seeing that Nicole was awake, Dorothea introduced herself.
“Hello, Miss Nicole. My name is Dorothea. Your father asked me to take care of you after the surgery. Since you’re a young lady, it can be inconvenient for your attending physician to handle certain matters.”
Nicole simply nodded faintly after hearing this.
Dorothea continued with a gentle reminder.
“You’ve just had surgery. I know lying in this position for a long time can be uncomfortable, but you must not move for now. If the wound is pulled open, that would be very bad. When the anesthesia wears off, if the pain becomes too strong, call for me. I’ve prepared some painkillers.”
Nicole nodded listlessly.
She only hoped that Big Brother Wang Yun would come see her soon. Staying alone in this cold hospital room made her feel terribly uncomfortable.
In the room next door, Betzi had already woken up.
Her wound was small. Although her lower back felt sore, it did not affect her ability to move. She sat up by herself, and when she saw that no one was around, she walked into the living room.
As soon as she came out, she saw Mr. Hart sitting on the sofa, apparently busy with something.
Aviva, who was bringing Hart a cup of coffee, noticed Betsy first.
She quickly greeted her.
“Miss Betzi, why did you come out by yourself?”
Aviva hurriedly set the coffee aside and came over to support her.
After helping Betsy sit down on the sofa, she handed the coffee to Hart.
Hart then instructed Aviva to prepare some nourishing food to help restore blood and energy.
Earlier, Big Mouth had already explained what to prepare to Aviva, and the ingredients had all been readied.
