Chapter 869: An Elevator as Big as a House
by tinytreeThey arrived at the center of the unfinished building, where a huge concrete pillar stood in the middle. The surface of the pillar was rough and uneven. No matter how one looked at it, this place seemed nothing more than an abandoned, deserted ruin.
Baren walked straight up to the pillar and reached out to press an inconspicuous protrusion.
To everyone’s surprise, the pillar in front of them split open right down the middle.
Smiling, Baren took the lead and beckoned for the others to follow as he walked.
“Brother Wang Yun, Brother Colin, let’s head down.”
Wang Yun nodded and followed him inside.
Colin went in after him.
Then came the two bodyguards who had arrived earlier.
Once everyone was inside, Baren pressed another button from within, and the stone pillar slowly closed again.
From the outside, it still looked like the same slightly dilapidated concrete pillar.
Wang Yun curiously examined the interior of the pillar.
The luxury inside stood in stark contrast to the shabby exterior.
A crystal chandelier hung overhead. The surrounding walls were entirely decorated with patterns made of gold leaf.
Wang Yun had no idea what those patterns meant. But that did not stop him from recognizing just how wealthy the owner of this place must be.
Inside this enclosed space, there were even tables and chairs arranged around the sides.
On them sat fine snacks and drinks.
If Big Mouth had been here, he definitely would have swept the whole spread clean.
Wang Yun could not help sighing inwardly.
Then he felt a slight sway in his body.
This space was steadily descending. Only then did he realize that this was actually a giant elevator.
A place where even the elevator was decorated so luxuriously…
Wang Yun could not help feeling curious about the destination they were about to reach.
Baren had originally assumed that the young man beside him would show at least some surprise. But to his astonishment, just as he turned around, about to explain, he heard a cool male voice from beside him.
“So this is an elevator.”
The one wearing a shocked expression now was not Wang Yun, but Baren himself, who had been about to explain.
He had not expected Wang Yun, at such a young age, to have such a steady temperament.
In comparison, it made Baren feel somewhat petty.
There was also another possibility: Wang Yun’s family background might be absurdly, unbelievably wealthy. Perhaps this level of luxury was completely ordinary in his eyes.
Baren stole a glance at Wang Yun, his gaze filled with uncertainty. He was a little stunned by his own speculation.
At the same time, it made him even more confident about tomorrow’s victory.
In truth, Wang Yun was not entirely unsurprised. He had simply learned how to keep a straight face. No matter how unbelievable the things he encountered might be, his expression always remained calm and indifferent.
It was as if nothing in the world could truly shock him.
While each of them was lost in their own thoughts, the elevator gave a soft chime.
Ding!
The elevator doors slowly opened.
Baren was just smiling and about to invite Wang Yun out when, as the doors slid open, he looked up and came face-to-face with someone about to enter.
The smile on Baren’s face instantly disappeared.
The man across from them, however, immediately put on a fake smile when he saw Baren, replacing his previously gloomy expression.
“I was wondering who had arrived. So it’s little brother Baren.”
But Baren clearly had no intention of responding to him. He gave a cold snort and led the group out of the elevator.
The people on the other side, however, clearly had no intention of letting Baren and the others walk in so easily.
The man shot a glance at the people beside him. At once, a bodyguard stepped forward and blocked Baren’s path.
Baren’s expression darkened even further. Anger rose on his face as he barked at them, “Move!”
But the bodyguard in front of him did not budge in the slightest.
Baren was furious. He turned around and demanded in a low voice, “Walter, what is the meaning of this?”
The man called Walter came over with a broad grin.
“Baren, don’t be like that. It’s been so long since we’ve seen each other. Shouldn’t we catch up properly?”
Baren only sneered. “There’s no old friendship between us worth revisiting. Get out of my way.”
But the man refused to back down in the slightest.
Only then did Wang Yun lift his head to size up Walter. The most striking thing about him was his build.
He was an absurdly enormous fat man. He was hefty enough to rival a sumo wrestler from the island nation. He wore a buzz cut, and his face was packed with layers of fat. His features looked squeezed together. There was simply too much flesh on his body.
He was the fattest person Wang Yun had ever seen.
Even the livestream audience had barely recovered from the shock of the elevator before Walter’s size stunned them all over again.
There were plenty of overweight people nowadays, sure, but someone this big was genuinely rare.
“Where did Big Brother even end up? Was that glorious gold-and-jade room just now really an elevator???”
“The world of the rich is beyond me. That one elevator is as big as my room!”
“Be grateful. That elevator is as big as my entire house!”
“Wow, look at that guy. He’s huge!”
“Is this guy from the island nation???”
“Is that a living sumo wrestler?”
“How thick does the fat on that guy have to be?!”
