Chapter 903: Is It Possible He Simply Never Had the Chance to Strike Back?
by tinytreeWith Blood Banquet’s event over, guests had begun leaving one after another over the past two days.
Looking at Rodney’s open, guileless face, Samson let a faint smile touch his own. He reached out and patted Rodney on the shoulder.
“Rodney, do you want to wipe these people out in one sweep?”
Rodney’s eyes lit up. He looked at his captain and answered without hesitation,
“Yes! Captain, just tell me what to do!”
Samson looked at Rodney with an expression that plainly said, At least you’re teachable.
“It’s not actually anything that difficult.”
Rodney watched his superior with eager anticipation.
The look on his face made Samson a little self-conscious.
“It’s just that now the event at Blood Banquet is ending, and the guests have already started leaving one after another. We need to get a handle on exactly who Blood Banquet’s guests are.”
Rodney nodded and said to Samson,
“Boss, just tell me what you need me to do.”
Samson nodded in approval.
“Good. Then I won’t beat around the bush. We need someone to gather information at the entrance.”
Rodney felt his blood surge with excitement.
“No problem, Captain. Don’t worry. I’ll find a spot with a good view that’s also well hidden and collect everything we need.”
Samson, however, shook his head.
“That’s not what I mean. I want you to pose as Wang Yun’s driver and wait for him near the entrance.”
Rodney looked as if he thought he had misheard.
He stared in disbelief and asked, “Captain, what did you just say? You want me to pretend to be that guy’s driver? Stand around like an idiot near the entrance waiting for him?”
The moment Samson saw the look on Rodney’s face, he put on a stern expression.
“Rodney, this is an assignment from the unit.”
In other words, refusal was not an option.
Rodney feared neither hardship nor exhaustion, but there was nothing in the world he hated more than standing around waiting for people like a fool. Still, it was an assignment from his captain.
No matter how unwilling he was, he had to do it.
His face crumpled like a bitter melon as he answered reluctantly,
“All right. Understood, Captain.”
Samson thought about saying a few words to comfort him, but in the end decided against it.
Rodney was capable enough. What he lacked was patience.
This was as good a chance as any to temper him.
Driving the black Mercedes the unit had prepared for him, Rodney pulled up not far from the entrance to Blood Banquet.
After parking the car, he stood silently by its side, quietly memorizing the people coming and going.
Other drivers were also waiting nearby for their employers. So his presence did not seem out of place to anyone.

Meanwhile, after breakfast, Colin and Baren left Blood Banquet together.
Wang Yun went back to his room alone and waited for them to come for him. He waited all the way until one in the afternoon.
Knock, knock, knock.
The clear sound of knocking rang out.
Wang Yun, who had been waiting in the room, straightened at once.
At last.
He rose to his feet, looked down at the T-shirt he was wearing, and shook his head. This time, he truly was not trying to be deliberately different.
When he opened the door, the attendant outside was not one he had seen before.
The man looked him up and down with unconcealed disdain, then asked in an uncertain tone,
“Are you Wang Yun?”
Wang Yun glanced at him in surprise.
So this one was no ordinary attendant. If he really were just an attendant, he would not dare speak to a guest like that.
Wang Yun had no intention of pursuing the matter, however. Right now, the only thing on his mind was wiping out all the decision-makers behind this place in one sweep.
So he nodded.
“That’s right. I am.”
The moment Wang Yun confirmed his identity, the attendant frowned outright. Looking at Wang Yun’s plain T-shirt and ordinary jeans, he asked uncertainly,
“You’re planning to meet our bosses dressed like that?”
Wang Yun lifted a brow.
“What? Is that not allowed? Or did your bosses tell you before you came that I had to be dressed a certain way to see them?”
Hearing the edge in Wang Yun’s tone, the attendant offered an apology so perfunctory it barely counted.
“My apologies, sir. That’s not what I meant. It’s just that all the bosses will be there, so it counts as a formal occasion. Would you like to change clothes first?”
But Wang Yun shook his head.
“No. I didn’t bring any formalwear. This will do.”
That only made the attendant frown more deeply.
The two of them stood there for a moment, locked in silent opposition, until the attendant was the one who gave way.
No matter how you looked at it, Wang Yun was still a guest.
As an attendant, he had no right to tell a guest how to dress. So, unwilling though he was, he could only lead Wang Yun toward the private room reserved for the bosses.
When they reached the door, Wang Yun took in his surroundings.
This was at the very end of one branch of the corridor. Even standing outside, he could already hear the voices inside, talking loudly and freely. Some of them were even discussing his match from the night before.
“That kid really is impressive.”
“No kidding. Didn’t you see? He barely even had to strike back. I’d say he wasn’t even fighting seriously.”
“That seems a little exaggerated, doesn’t it?”
“Didn’t you see? He spent almost the whole time dodging and hardly ever countered. He had to be in complete control.”
But not everyone agreed.
“Is it possible he simply never had the chance to strike back?”
The moment those words were spoken, the entire room fell silent for a heartbeat.
“I don’t think so. He dodged far too easily. I can tell he’s much better than anything we’ve actually seen.”
