Chapter 907: Why’s Big Bro Getting into a Police Car Too?
by tinytreeNothing.
There was nothing.
Wang Yun stared at the people being loaded into the police vehicles, his brows drawing tighter and tighter.
He had a bad feeling about this.
Curt’s son, the one who had slipped away, was clearly not the sort to lie low and behave himself.
Now that Blood Banquet was gone, who knew how he might choose to retaliate?
If he came after Wang Yun himself, that was one thing. Wang Yun was not afraid of that. What worried him was the possibility that the boy might turn extreme and take his revenge out on ordinary people.
At his side, Samson saw Wang Yun’s frown deepen and came over to pat him on the shoulder, trying to reassure him.
“It’s fine. So Curt’s son got away. We’ve got his father. Are we really supposed to be afraid of some green kid?”
He said it like it was nothing, but Wang Yun still could not shake the unease in his chest.
Then again, on second thought, he was not leaving Mu City anytime soon. If that kid wanted revenge, then surely he would come for him.
Shaking his head, Wang Yun stopped dwelling on it and looked at Samson.
“Then I’ll leave the cleanup to you. I’m heading back to the hotel.”
Samson nodded, then suddenly seemed to remember something and quickly stopped him just as he turned away.
“You may not be able to leave just yet.”
Wang Yun looked at him in confusion.
“Is there still something you need me to do?”
Samson nodded.
“I nearly forgot. All these people are unconscious right now, so you need to come back with me and give a statement.”
Then he quickly added an explanation.
“It’s not that we suspect you. It’s just that I’m worried that lot will get together and lie.”
Wang Yun nodded, then lifted his hand and held the ring up in front of Samson’s eyes.
“All right. But this thing can’t possibly only send signals, can it?”
A mysterious smile spread across Samson’s face.
Then, with obvious pride, he said, “Of course not. This is our latest high-tech equipment. It also has an audio recording function built in.”
Then he added, with some regret, “The only drawback is that it can’t record video or capture images.”
Wang Yun nodded in understanding. He had known this tiny ring could not be that simple. There had been several signal jammers inside Blood Banquet, after all. And yet this little thing had still managed to send a signal out.
That alone showed how much power was hidden inside so small a device.
Samson called Rodney over from behind him.
After giving him a few instructions about the cleanup, he returned, took Wang Yun with him, and headed straight back to the station.
Meanwhile, in Wang Yun’s livestream, the audience had been staring at a black screen for a full day and night.
Only after Wang Yun came back up from underground did the image finally return.
The assistant director, who had been monitoring Wang Yun’s stream the whole time, suddenly shouted in excitement, “Director Zhou! Director Zhou, come quick! Wang Yun’s livestream has picture again!”
Director Zhou, who had been busy, immediately dropped what he was doing and hurried over to the computer, eyes fixed on the screen.
At that very moment, nearly every viewer in Wang Yun’s livestream did exactly the same thing.
As Wang Yun’s die-hard fans, they had spent a whole day staring at his blacked-out feed.
Now that the picture had finally come back, they looked ready to inspect even the grains of sand on the ground.
The number of viewers in Wang Yun’s livestream was climbing at a dizzying pace.
Everyone wanted to know what he had been doing during the day he vanished.
But the moment they saw all those people lying on the ground, every one of them was so shocked their mouths hung open.
Inside Wang Yun’s mind, the system prompts began to sound one after another.
Shock value +50!
Shock value +100!
Shock value +100!
…
The notification chime kept ringing without pause.
Wang Yun knew that meant the livestream feed was back.
Director Zhou looked at Wang Yun on the screen, standing beside the police officers, and could not help feeling relieved.
He already knew Wang Yun had gone undercover.
That was exactly why he had been so worried.
Even though Wang Yun had repeatedly assured him before leaving that nothing would go wrong, until he saw the man safe with his own eyes, his heart had been hanging by a thread.
Only now could he finally breathe easy.
“Hah… that brat.”
Director Zhou let out a long breath and laughed as he cursed under his breath.
He knew Wang Yun was about to steal the spotlight again. And the show’s inspectors were going to get another headache because of him.
Only then were the viewers in the livestream beginning to recover from the sight of all those bodies sprawled across the ground.
“Those… are living people, right???”
“They should be. There’s no blood on the ground.”
“How did that many people lose the ability to move?”
“Judging by how they look, they should all be unconscious!”
“From what I can tell, they were probably all hit with police tranquilizer darts!”
“Look closely—some of them are twitching slightly. They’re not dead, just unconscious. The dosage must’ve been pretty high. Private individuals wouldn’t be using tranquilizers at that concentration, so it’s safe to conclude these people were taken down by police!”
“Damn, the person above is way too cool!”
“That analysis actually makes perfect sense!”
“If the police made such a massive move, then this group must be seriously dangerous criminals!”
“No wonder they just dumped them all on the ground!”
“Look—why’s Big Bro getting into a police car too?”
